I talked with squidley and he said that the Phantom is going to be in the hospital for a while,but he should be OK!!!!! I'm still waiting too hear from sierra,as soon as i get anything i will post it.

UPDATE:

I just got home from visiting Phantom. It was a short visit, but I had to get back to meet some deadlines at work.

Never let it be said that Phantom does not do things with style and a unique flair.

As you might expect, Phantom is not a timid driver, but how does anyone get rear-ended going more than 80 mph? Well, he did. The original impact wasn't much but as any NASCAR fan knows, a slight bump at those speeds make it hard to stay on the road. Several yards and an encounter with a tree later, and Phantom came away with a concussion and various and sundry strains, bumps and soft tissue trauma.

I have no clue whether the other driver was drunk, stupid, or merely inattentive. Possibly a combination.

I have seen Phantom with my own eyes (although he might not remember it). He will be fine, but certainly laid up for a while and very uncomfortable. I have no projection as to when he will be back with us. It depends on how long he can sit comfortably.

I had great friend loose her life last year also from a head on colision with a tree.It can happen in a split second and then nothing is ever the same...Phantom is a very lucky man...I'm glad of that fact.Get well soon my friend.

He wiped out a tree at 80mph? That the most environmentally unfriendly accident I have heard of

I hope his concusssion isn't too bad. Just FYI a concussion is a bruise to the brain and can have all kinds of weird effects on you while you have it. I had one once and it affected my sense of balance to a point where my brain was essentially guessing where down was anytime I moved! Only had it a couple of days though.

This is the best news I've heard in a long stretch of time. I'm glad he's going to be okay, especially knowing how easily a wreck at that speed could have turned so very much worse. My thoughts go with you and give him my best.

Oh... and perhaps he should buy a couple lottery tickets. I'm just saying he could be on a serious roll here...
