Question about the new UK law
I've visited the board a few times but felt a bit uncomfortable about posting until now. Hi! By the way.
I would like to ask if anyone knows how the new ban on 'Extreme Sex' will affect those who enjoy fantasy rape? I've read quite a bit about it but there doesn't seem to be much clarity when it comes to people who enjoy this kind of thing. As it stands now this is what their saying is against the law: intercourse or oral sex with an animal; sexual interference with a human corpse; serious violence in a sexual context; or serious sexual violence. So I'm left wondering. Personally I think this law is rubbish, the government have no right to interfer in our personal sexual choices. |

Welcome to the board. Feel free to add to our threads or create your own.
I live in the U.S. and I am sure those specific instances would be looked down upon here as well. The big but is if they aren't aware then nothing to wory about. I wouldn't advertise if you are into animals or corpses let alone if you like getting rough with sexual partners. To each their own. Not condoning breaking the law but what happens behind the four walls of your home should be your business. That is my $.02. |

I live in the USA too, but it's my opinion that any law that interferes with what two consenting adults wants to do is an evil law, plain and simple.
If someone wishes to derive sexual pleasure by having their partner commit violent acts upon them, that is their prerogative to pursue as they wish. I'm also not a fan of any law that in addition to the above boils down to a "just keep it to yourself". Society does not progress by keeping things to ourselves, nor should we have to. |

New Law
With regards the new law, the meaning regarding to serious sexual violence etc is going to be a bit of a challenge for a court to decide. It is pretty straight forwards regarding sex with a corpse, animal sex etc.
The problem the police will have will be actually having the resourses to enforce the law. They have problems enough with kiddie porn. If you can remember there was a massive fuss about the police not doing anything a couple of years ago when the FBI gave them a list of 1000's of suspects who had subscribed to such porn sites. It was all a question of what they could handle at the time, and they concentrated on people in positions of trust to start with. A lot of other people they ended up dealing with escaped with just a caution ( instead of been castrated as I am sure is what most people including myself would like to see).I know my local police force are taking up to 6 months to analyse computers such is the work load, and unless the case is serious, e.g major drug crime, kiddie porn, officers have virtually no chance of getting computers they seize examined. I have no idea if the FBI will be sending over a similar list eventually of Brits who subscribe via credit card details to rape sites, but if they do I am sure it will run into many thousands more than the kiddie sites, which quite rightly will remain their main focus as regards the internet, computers etc. As I said at the beginning, it will be at the end of the day up to a court to decide in law what consitutes an offence. However, it will be up to someone to take the matter to court and get them to make a judgement. I say this as to opposed to someone getting arrested, been told they have 'violent porn' on their computer, and accepting a caution rather than getting a court to decide if they have actually committed an offence. Tough call, a caution tends not to appear in the press etc ( unless it is leaked), if it go's to court, then it is in the public domain. My own thoughts are this is a stupid law, consenting adults are just that, if someone decides to act out fantasies for real in a non consenual way, then they should be punished, and in the case of rape etc, very severley. I doubt if the law will prevent any crime, i.e. actual rape taking place. |

It almost seems to me like a "tack on" crime law. the sort of thing they can add to an arrest to either make the arrested criminal seem worse, get favor on their side, or add years to a sentance.
If they arrest someone for drugs but their case isn't very strong, and they jsut happen to find "Violent Porn" in the persons home or on their computer... they could use it to tack on another charge to help their case now he is not only a drug dealer but a pervert as well ( Not saying this is right or wrong.. Just posing it as a possibility) And then of course there are the political possibilities Can you imagine if a cantidate for public office was accused of the crime of being into violent pornography THE HORROR.... I dunno of course. Just thoughts. Just like the places where oral sex is against the law " yeah.. sure officer.. you go ahead and enforce that one"
