Hey what is your avatar exactly? Is that one of those images carved into the ground so the the chalk underneath is exposed to make the image? Did it have a caption, like "Ughhh, I would mate with you"?

It's the Cerne Abbas Giant, and yes it's a hill figure. Located on Frying Pan Hill outside Cerne Abbas in Dorset. There are many theories surrounding it's origins, including one that it's an 18th century hoax. There are earthworks on Frying Pan Hill dating back to the Roman occupation, another theory I read is that Frying Pan Hill was the site of a pre-Roman Beltane Wicker Man type ritual where criminals were encased in a giant wicker cage and burnt alive.

The Giant could also be a representation of Hercules or a similar deity.

Couples have been known to go shagging on his penis to increase the chances of fertility. The hill figure was recently restored.
