3. Catch clues. Some people are just not going to respond to everything said - including some things personally directed at them. If you think someone missed your post, you can always private message (PM) them and ask. If you don't get an answer, don't take it personally.


Do not :

1. Post links to objectionable material. The moderator's judgement in each case applies.
2. Troll i.e. deliberately posting inflammatory comments just to upset someone or attract aggressive responses.
3. Spam. Creating repetitive, identical or near identical posts is annoying and creates more work for the moderators.
4. Feed the trolls. If someone is spamming and flaming, report the post. Responding to trolls just encourages them and creates more work for the moderators.
5. Post in the wrong section. Check the board titles before you post
6. Use non-descript thread titles.
7. Ignore a request from a moderator.
8. Post any users contact details or personal information without their permission
9. Post the contents of any PM in the forums


Tell someone who cares!

If you see something that you think is against the rules, best not to deal with it yourself, instead hit the 'Report to Moderators' link.

Because of the large volume of activity on the forums, moderators cannot always act immediately when action is needed. Please be patient and respectful. The moderators are highly-trusted forum members; they know how things work and want you to have a good time.

While the rules and Terms and Conditions here are clear, the unpredictable variety of discussion topics often mean that moderators base their decisions on judgement calls. Their decision is binding, and it is good not to test the limits of the rules by deliberately posting material that is borderline. Just use common sense and everything will be fine.

This is a nice place; we do things differently here.

We are unique in many ways but the one toughest for some to fathom is usually called "thread hijacking" elsewhere - taking someone's topic and running off in an entirely new direction. Here, it's allowed as long as the "new direction" is in good taste, isn't immediately after someone posted the original topic (which is seen as boorishly rude), or it's playfully responding to a previous post. This often happens when people get to know each other better and have fun ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. Of course, it sucks if nothing ever gets said on topic and you'd hate it if someone dragged one of your topics into outer space. So, look about, get the feel for what RC sees more as 'hitchhiking' a ride rather than kicking the driver to the curb and taking his car wherever you want to go!

There are no "cliques" here, but sometimes people get closer to some and not others. Just the nature of humans. Please don't be offended if your posts don't get as many responses as others or the person you want to play with isn't always responsive. It's really not about "you"; it's just someone else's preferences. If someone asks you to 'back off', back off graciously.
