MY question is....why are people so obsessed with the U.S?? I would love to talk to those who are not from the U.S about my culture...BUT THEY ALREADY KNOW IT! They know everything there is to know about the U.S. and its freakin' annoying. Its like they start automatically talking about something U.S based like its common knowledge. WTF do you know??? Maybe I should move to Papua New Guinea.

What?? Jaffa cakes and Jammie dodgers but no Bourbon creams?!!
THE best snackfood when baked...bite the ends off a cadbury's choc finger and suck hot tea/coffee through until the inner biscuits goes soft & gooey & the choc melts... Ohhh yeah Secondly, do you consider the jaffa cake a cake or biscuit? The clue is in the name in my opinion.. but some still consider it a biscuit.. Oh, trivial matters. I'm glad to see the biscuit dilemma being brought to everyone's attention.. xx |

I have always thought the Green M&M was a transvestite...I mean.. its not like it has any obvious female curves or anything.. just pouty lips and a mole.. but when you think about it.. so does this guy..
I like Hersey's kisses, But I can't eat more than two or three... because beyond that I figure i should just be eating a herseys candy bar instead ...

No thank you, though.. I am not entirely sure exactly what you mean by that. Not that it matters because I see your post about green M&Ms has mysteriousley disappeared... funny how that happens isn't it

Really...REALLY, come on! there's no comparison here...aside from the physical comparison of there being sponge in a twinkie as well as a Jaffa cake.
Clearly you haven't had a Jaffa Cake DrMephisto for you to offer the Twinkie as an explanation to my original enquiry...nice try though. lol Lem

Ultimate Solution
There IS a method of destroying spammers in a way that nuclear holocaust can never do.
It's very simple.... Just gather them all up and put them in a room, let them sweat for a while and then send me in there with a LSD, Viagra, rope and chain and an endless supply of condoms. Give me 48 hours in there and I will guarantee they are destroyed...or at least emotionally altered so violently that they will never spam another board as long as they live....which probably wouldn't be too long!. lol Lem

Jaffa cakes are the best, esp as you can now get lots of different flavours!!!!
Jacobs fig rolls come a close second and for those who do not know and it is the test that a court of law applied to settle the argument as to whether Jaffa cakes are biscuits or cakes ( biscuits get VAT taxed, cakes do not) a cake goes hard, a biscuit goes soft when left out. and having visited the USA many times Hersey chocolate is awful! |

There is some hope though, and that is you can get Galaxy here...which is named, "Dove". Whilst it's not as good a quality recipe as Galaxy, it's not far off. Lem

For me, the best cake is Italian Ricotta chessecake backed by Ferrara's bakery in New York. The best choclate is Lindt's (Swiss, and better than that country's other chocolate Nestle). And I got the picture to prove it because she is wearing Lindt wrappers. linzi-stoppard_5906.jpg Packaging is everything! |

I have found some Jaffa cakes in the stores over here under the "No Name" brand and I tried one and then threw out the rest. They are loaded with sugar and they probably are a hit in England and Ireland with all of the sugar addicts. I will pick sugarless Cheetos any day over a snack food that brings you up and then 20 minutes later crashes you into a hypoglycemic slump.
Just my humble opinion... |

No generic brand Jaffa Cake comes close to the original McVities. You can get generic brand Jaffa's at Miejer and other places, but they are a poor imitation.
And don't think that Europeans haven't embraced American football. It's extremely popular in Europe and especially the UK. There are non professional leagues all around Europe. I myself played fro a local BAFL team (British American Football League), and the sport is full contact, full rules. The popularity of the European admiration for the game and the fact so many teams started playing across the continent actually forced the NFL's hand in creating NFL Europe. But for the best evidence of the popularity of American Football over there you just have to look to the fact the NFL took a regular season game over to England, and played at Wembley Stadium. One of the most interesting facts about the Wembley game was the fact SEVEN MILLION people enquired about purchasing tickets, and the stadium only houses ninety thousand. If American football wasn't popular in the UK and Europe, then why are the NFL returning with another regular season game on October 26th? Lemarchand

And the NFL tore up the Wembley pitch, which was awful the following week when England played real football.
