Have you heard about the Aussie that is visiting Dallas, Texas? He wakes up in a strange bed as he's being arrested for rape. The woman that is in the apartment says that she was abducted from a bar, hustled into a taxi, taken to her apartment and then raped.

This guy says he clueless, but he's currently in the Dallas County Jail. Is there something wrong with this picture or is it just me?

Sadly, by US jurisprudence, if a drunk man and a woman end up having sex and neither remembers what happened the next morning, the man can be charged with rape because even when drunk he is responsible for his actions, however, the woman by being drunk is considered incapable of giving consent! A very scary double standard and good reason not to drink and fuck.

"A 24-year-old Australian man followed a woman home from an Uptown bar and raped her early Monday, Dallas police say.

The Australian Consulate has been notified that Kurt Graham has been charged with sexual assault of the woman, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The woman told police she and her roommate were at a bar in the 2700 block of McKinney Avenue when Graham approached her and bought her and her roommate drinks. He then “started making unwanted advances” toward her, according to the affidavit.

She said she rejected Graham’s advances and left the bar in a taxi around 3 a.m. to go to her home in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood.

The woman told police that Graham got into the cab with her and her roommate without permission and insisted on getting a ride. The driver dropped all three off at the woman’s home.

Graham chased her inside as she tried to get away and forced his way in the home, the affidavit states. He then pinned her down on her bed and raped her, it says.

The woman told police that she feared for her life and repeatedly told Graham to stop. She said was able to escape and call 911 after kicking him in the stomach.

When officers arrived, they found Graham unconscious in the woman’s bed, the affidavit states.

The cab driver apparently didn't see anything wrong. He dropped three people off at the home of the two women. Where was the roommate? Why didn't she help? If the man was drunk enough to pass out, how much of a threat would he have been to two women? If the man posed a threat, why take him home and not the nearest police substation, why get out of the cab with him and then why get out of the cab outside your home. This just doesn't make sense.

For what ever reason, this case has truly perplexed me. The previously quoted Dallas Morning News article included a perfectly focused color photo of Mr. Kurt Graham. The news paper stopped releasing photos of rape suspects some time back and even stopped listing the nationality or race of the suspect. The police contacted the Australian Consulate. Both actions are most unusual. The Dallas police contact no one in a suspect's behalf. The suspect is given a phone call and he can contact whoever he wants.

I decided to Google the name Kurt Graham in Australia. I found this linkedin link http://au.linkedin.com/pub/dir/Kurt/Grahamarlia. It seems the man is a highly placed individual with the NSW Liberal Party. Public Affairs and Policy Analysis seems to be his specialty. He is also an Executive Associate at Kreab Worldwide.

I'll give odds that he's a mark for two bimbos or most likely a mark for an opposing political party. Heaven knows that the Dallas Police Department can't be bought.

Remember that the Dallas Police Department gave us most of our history of the Kennedy, Oswald and Ruby deaths.

In closing, I am a bit of an expert on bars in Texas. We are in the Bible belt. Last call for alcohol on Sunday night is 1 AM Monday morning. The bars are closed no later than 2 AM and usually at 1:30 AM. How is that the trio left at 3 AM and managed to find a cab? There is no way in hell you can find a cab at 3 AM in Dallas outside of a closed bar.

FORMER Baird Government staffer Kurt Graham experienced every tourist’s “nightmare” after he was falsely accused of sexual assault and thrown into a Dallas County jail cell.

The 24-year-old — a former adviser to Minister for Women Pru Goward — had been travelling with a mate across the US when their holiday bliss was shattered.

Shortly before returning to Sydney in July, the communications specialist partied with two women at the Trophy Room Bar, a popular nightspot in Dallas.

After dancing together at the bar, Mr Graham and the two room-mates travelled in a Lyft ride-sharing taxi to their home.

In the hours after arriving, one of the women claimed Mr Graham had made unwanted advances towards her at the bar, forced his way into the Lyft car and later became aggressive and sexually assaulted her at the house.

Dallas criminal defence attorney Lynn Johnson told The Saturday Telegraph witness accounts did not corroborate with claims made by the alleged victim.

After spending five days in a prison cell, Ms Johnson secured Mr Graham bail at $US25,000, which his family helped raise.

The former University of Sydney student had his passport returned, allowing him to return to Australia.

Dallas police dropped the charges before a grand jury was appointed, clearing Mr Graham of all offences.

Mr Graham, who worked on Premier Mike Baird’s election campaign, said his reputation was smeared for a “horrendous” crime he didn’t commit.

“I had my character assassinated, it was just horrible, the stuff of nightmares,” Mr Graham said.

“I knew I was innocent from day one. I’m just relieved that Dallas police have done the right thing and dropped these charges.”

Mr Graham said most Australian tourists would be ignorant to the US justice system “maze”, and warned people to be careful.

The sexual assault charges carried a maximum penalty of 25-years in prison.

“This could happen to anyone, you’ve just got to be so aware,” he said.

Mr Graham, who was supported by family and friends during his ordeal, said the experience had taken an “emotional and financial” toll.

“No parent wants to see their child on the other side of the world thrown into jail for something I was innocent of. It was so much harder that it happened on the other side of the world.”

While in jail, he was cut-off from family and friends, unable to contact Australia.

“There were a few days there where I felt completely stranded, I had no way of contacting the outside world.”

In April, the former University of Sydney student was recruited by strategic communications firm Kreab as an executive associate.

Mr Graham said he would now take time to evaluate his next step in the new year.

“I’ve got to take a bit of time to rebuild my reputation and rebuild those relationships before this happened.”
