I think this is all going a bit too far. If this is a private message its really wrong of you to post it.

I appreciate your kindness to me and the support I was given in recent arguments but I sincerely hope I am not a part of all the negative comments that TD1 is getting recently as we resolved our differences and moved on some time ago. I very much have enjoyed our conversations since and think he probably feels the same.

Not everyone is always going to get along and the rowdy room is great for bringing things up when things are on your mind. But when every thread devolves into an argument there is a problem.

We are all adults and shouldn't need moderators to step in to clean things up. You can see in Stern's recent posts that she is feeling the pressure of tidying up all the flaming and drama thats going on everywhere.

My only hope is that if you have this thread then it can all remain in this thread and be resolved here because its getting too much and it puts people off posting on the original topics, or puts off new members from posting.

I like you both and this is all I have to say on this.

I realize that I have said many things here in support of the "fighting" as well as "airing dirty laundry in public."
(Not to mention stating names).

However, this is wrong, and I take back everything I have said about the "fighting" prior to this.
It is only now that I understand the impact of all this, and I highly advise you to end it.
In the end, it really is pathetic to be fighting over things like this, especially when there are far greater things happening in the world as well as in our everyday lives.

Stricken - There are no rules here about posting PMs here, but it is the CUSTOM of this board that we keep PMs private. Every community has its unwritten rules, and that's one of them here.

As with another situation here recently, as soon as you posted that PM, anything TDO did didn't matter any more. It became about what YOU did, and I don't think that was your point.

You won't get a lot of the support you may or may not deserve on this. What it does mean is that I will be VERY careful in the future should I send you private comment.

I know there is a logical reason for this "rule". I honestly don't understand the reasoning. I am not being arbitrary here or confrontive. I would really appreciate an explanation.

I want to add something to what Phantom said, if I might.

The PM function was created specifically for the purpose of giving people a place to talk to each other without an audience. I use it a lot to give praise, to ask questions, to explain things - for lots of reasons. Occasionally, as Phantom says, for conflict resolution but not often. I use PMs like someone would use a quiet voice behind her hand - for things not everybody needs or wants to hear.

I have had my PMs posted publicly before. It was not a good feeling. After all - you and I have had private conversations there about a third person which did not need to be blasted publicly.
