The midnight clock ticks. The full moon is out. Around the edges of the torn filthy streets, a few dogs howl. Howling to the black flowing of time. Howling to what will happen on these very streets.

A man in a long robe treads the stony asphalt. He wears glasses, on which the moon shines, hiding his cold eyes. His leather boots beat down on the hard stone.Tip tap. Tip tap. Goes his footsteps. He wears a large hat, and his face remains in its shadows.

As he passes a corner, he senses a movement. To his left, on a battered old chair, sits a young girl. She is looking into the stars, and scribbling little letters into her notebook.

The man stops. Tip tap no more. A hint of a smile shows itself on his shadowy face.
