Whoops, I was referring to sierra's post being rude, not ego's. The others hadn't loaded when I posted that, my mistake. I'll write a second response in a moment. Although I don't really know what I'm being threatened to be attacked with, stern, but you don't think comments implying pretty blatantly that I'm stupid are somewhat rude? How did I piss her off? Looking back, Stern's first response to my post was to call it all "b.......", then to say that she had more mean things to say but wouldn't because of rules. Then it was pretty much a lot of aggressive posting from her, devolving into more insults at me, and then other people joined in, but not to add to the discussion, just to insult.

Yeah, each one of us is unique and has an individual personality. But during a conversation is absolutely fair to generalize, when a group of people tend to react to the same way, or tend to have the same opinion.

For example, one could say that meat tastes better than bread. If one person declares that he prefers bread instead of meat, that would automatically give the statment a false status. But generally, its a true statment because most people do like meat more than bread.

Or, one could say that men mess the basin when they piss. Well, some of us do not. But generally, we do.

No. The original statment i try to defend is: "Rape has psychological impacts as well, among other things".
To say why this is, i should be a specialist (i am not). I can say however that it has, because i've been told so by all rape victims (besides you) i have ever talked to. And all the people (who I have talked to) who are not victims but have tried to put themselves under a victims skin agree.

Your initial statment was that "the psychological result of being raped shouldn't be very much different than from being mugged."
You know, since ancient years people were considering the right to control their body more important than money. None who had some money was a slave.
So, the "why" that is is a different conversation. I would be glad to read some comments about that "why" from people who can say, but before we start that convo we should end this one. Again, judging by the effect, your statment seems to be wrong. Being raped is not the same thing with being mugged (due to psychological results among other things).
Lets agree on that one, then we could go on talking about the "why".

It works fine. If 98% of the people i've talked to agree (the rest 2% was speaking a language i couldnt understand well), i can fairly assume that this is a representative sample.
What about the people you have meet? Do they agree with you?
Honestly, you are the only one. Not the one out of three, but out of many. You can have your opinion -its your right- but you are a very small percentage.
