The news today is that the British governments environmental policies will push a further 1 million households into fuel poverty in the next year as energy suppliers are forced to expand their renewable energy sources. All this of course is handed down to us by the EU.

Now, I don't particularly have a problem with cleaning up and limiting pollution, conservation of habitats, etc etc etc. But I do have a problem with unelected officials making me poorer.

If any government want to make a renewable energy policy, surely it should be one that cuts out our reliance on the big energy companies altogether? Especially when one of the biggest in Britain is now owned by the French government.

Nationalisation by the back door surely? Who says socialism is dead?

Watch out America, I hear you lot are next if Obama gets his way....

I dont know... the environment means alot to me. I mean,Littering really bugs me. Really really makes me frustrated and just generally disapointed and sad at times. The environment is generally more important then money,the earth more important then man made material and littering is just lazy and ruines the environment.

What gets me, I grew up in the 70's and 80's and all we heard about was 'the Earth is facing a new ice age' and now its 'the Earth will become a desert' so I find it a little bit difficult to take this seriously.
