Couldn't agree more. I remember him when he was in his prime. He was not only a musical and performing genius, he was a beautiful man, although a little weird.

Lately he has descended into insanity, ruined his face and body, and for some reason given himself permission to be above the law. I would feel sorry for him, but ....

Genius? I've always thought Michael Jackson was a bit overated. Listen to The Jackson Five and his Off The Wall album. The tremendous Motown production of The Jacksons hid the worst of his voice, the Motown sound is just fabulous but they had far greater singers, songwriters and musicians on their books. The smaller sound of Off The Wall didn't cover his voice so well, which seems a little flat to me.

Remember we're discussing a manufactured phenomenon here, not raw talent harnessed. His single great success in Thriller is owed in no small part to those who worked with him. Co-written and produced by Quincy Jones so it's easy to see where the music came from. On Thriller the imperfections in his voice have disappeared. Production? Maturity? Drugs? Surgery?

Then the showmanship. Sure he's a great dancer but who choreographed it? Even a Spicegirl can be taught to dance and move her mouth at the same time.

With sound investment, manufacturing and marketing Jackson certainly stole the thunder from the true ingenious skinny mother fucker with the high voice from the same era. Anything he did after Thriller was just faintly disturbing.

I must admit, I love the stuff from thriller, and One Day In Your Live, Bad was hit and miss, and was probably the right title.

It was the God complex he started to develope in the 90's that pissed me off, all that save the world bullshit, with loads of lovely little kids hanging onto his ropes, pass me the sick bucket
