This question is stupid. But why does a woman have to go to the hospital after she has been raped?

But sometimes ...

As you might have noticed a woman's vagina gets wet when she's aroused to allow the man's penis to penetrate her comfortly. If she is not and she is being penetrated by force (a rapist also doesn't usually give a crap about being gentle) some vaginal injuries may occur that require medical attention.
Since rapists also attack their victims to force themselves on them, the victims may receive "usual" injuries, like bruises, cuts, broken bones, etc ...

Medical attention however is to be adviced in general to make sure the victim (if female) didn't get pregnant or (male and female) catch a STD.

Although very humiliating it is also advisable to make sure all possible evidence can be gathered.

I guess I'll weigh in here.

After I was raped, I spent a week in hospital. Physical injuries specifically relating to penetration were minor (I was not a virgin). Collection of evidence took only minutes.

The majority of my injuries were inflicted during the struggle.

I think the gangrape cause more injuries to the victim than the single rapist,also the gangrape give her more humiliating.
