Last House on the left; remake! - Rape Board

Hey all, anybody seen the highlights for the remake of "Last House on the Left"? I've only seen them twice but it looks like a decent remake of the cult classic. Actually the story may be better chronicled in this version. Of course I mostly look forward to viewing the rape scene.

The only part I see that looks like it's part of the attack is a blonde lying face down in the mud while it's raining, in a wooded area, and then you see a hand cup the back of her neck as if to hold her in place. I simply imagine the backdoor bandit is ready to strike.

I'm not expecting too much in terms of a graphic rape scene. I thought the original movie, although I understand its cult status, wasn't particularly good, so we'll see what they do this time.

LOL - Just noticed that they're remaking "I Spit on Your Grave" too! Video nasty remake frenzy!

I am sure the remakes will follow the neoconservative tendencies of recent films are leave out the "disturbing" images.

well, I would agree about a lot of the remakes and many of the new movies relieased these days, especially the pg 13 craze that has hit many slasher flicks that would greatly benefit from a rape scene or two!

However, I really do believe, from the brief highlight that the scene in the Last House remeke will be pretty decent. I'm not counting on greatness but better that a lot of other movies that either show only an attempted rape or an off screen implied rape, LOL.

One such example is the movie Blind or Blindness, has an excellent part where there could actually is multiple rapes happening but does not show much of anything. very disappointing.

I didn't know I Spit on your Grave was going to be remade? Hmm, I would say they have to show the rapes in full view if they want to reach a status even close to the original movie, although, many remakes and movies are done quickly just to get them out to the public, either in the theatres or straight to dvd just to make money and the quality of the movie suffers!

So I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

If the director is in any way serious about producing a decent version of it, he simply has to show the rapes in full.

That's what the whole debate was with the original, was there artistic direction behind the graphic nature in that the movie's whole audience, men and women, would sympathize with Jennifer, or was it just disgusting trash?

So, there's absolutely no point in making it again if it goes the opposite way, and it's toned down. I won't watch it if that happens.
