As the above person said, DO NOT type in your information. It WILL be stolen by the thieves. The site pretends to be rapidshare, with all the layout and all. It is NOT rapidshare.

I punched in some false information there like my

username: OHNOEZ and my pass: ILOSTMYINFO!!!111

I'm nearly 100 percent sure that there is sarcasm in this post, but just to give leeway to other possible reasons:

The website URL is a dead giveaway. It would take someone with very poor memory (the memory of 5 seconds) to open that link and assume that it's Rapidshare providing the fact that they know how to operate a computer with a brain that allows 5 seconds of memory. In other words, it's technically not that great of a trick to say the least. They did one hell of a job pretending like it's the real site though - it looks identical from the looks of it.

It's funny: after I punch in fake information there, it brings me back to the rapidshare site. Did it just steal my info? OH NO. I PUT IN MY USERNAME which as I mentioned before was something like WTFOMG and my password ILOSTMYINFO11111. I knew about it being a fake site but I wanted to throw in something to piss them off.

As for the sarcasm, you may think you're sure of something but until the fact that you discover that something you knew was a fake, you'll be crying about the people who didn't help you along the way. Take an example about the Nigerian Scam. Some guy from the email writes to you saying they have millions of dollars to give to you if you help them out. So as the nice guy you are, you help them. They ask you to put in "a little bit of money" and so you do, thinking you can get a payday. Next thing you know, you put in hundreds of thousands of dollars into their bank account. They run away, you lose money. YES, as stupid as it sounds, this does happen to people. I think the people who fall for it are stupid, no doubt about it. BUT, I sympathize with them. I know they were tricked, and though I'm much more aware of the situation than they were before, I believe that those people who tricked them should be sent to jail at the very least. I hope the victims get their money back. I'm not quite sure how people fall for emails like that, but since people do fall for it, humans are not infallible.

And to add, there are emails circulating around that pretend to be something or someone they are not. Emails from banks and such, that pretend to inform you that your bank account was suspended prompt you to type in your confidential information. Just another modification of what this is. I get an email from the bank (a bank I've never heard of) that my ACCOUNT was suspended LOL. Works on some people though.

Justice needs to be served here, especially here.
