Dogs is one of my all time fav songs by them.... but the entire Animals album was great. Very political.....

^^ yeah, very political indeed! But how else can an album sound when it's inspired by Animal Farm? (Such an easy read but still one of my fave books of all time.)
It's SUCH a good album. Great song, great band! Mainly instrumental, but I also love One Of These Days. Kicks ASS. One time I was wearing headphones and said "One of these days I'm gonna CUT YOU INTO LITTLE PIECES!" when that part came on, and the lady who happened to be walking behind me really sped up her pace haha. whoops. Caught In A Mosh- Anthrax \m/

Let her know that nudity is art & then the picture on them is art too, so you have three things going with that image.

The Academy Is...
First heard them on Fuse in combination of Cobra Starship and Gym Class Heroes in a song from the movie Snakes On A Plane. I rather enjoyed the guy's voice and it was a catchy tune even though I had no desire to see the movie itself. Then later I heard the song "The Phrase That Pays" and busted out laughing at this line "Oh doctor, doctor, I must have gotten this sick somehow I'm going to ask you a series of questions And I want them answered on the spot, right now Is it serious? I'm afraid it is. Am I gonna die? Well, son, death is gonna catch up to all one day But yours is coming quicker than ours, than ours" Been listening to them ever since. I prefer listening to the album Almost Home than their new stuff.

In The Country- Chicago
Terry Kath <3 Shame such talent gone to waste. Such a ridiculous waste. It may have been the recent line up but I saw them when I was 18. My friends mom made us wait behind the theater to meet them. I met the whole band, they were very nice However one dude was in such a hurry he hugged me real quick and managed to absolutely SMASH my tit between himself and the barricade. It hurt so bad. I shrieked and he jumped haha

I'm very impressed by Motorhead's longevity, but I'm afraid they've lost inspiration

Motorhead is Motorhead .. inspiration or whatever at least they didn't pull a Metalica cop out.. stay metal or stay at home.

^ damn straight. Metallica WISHES they were half as good as Motorhead. Lemmy is a god.
Like lots of people, I'm one of those fans of OLD Metallica. Their really early stuff. (Cliff Burton/Dave Mustaine stuff, cough cough) Last year my older brother saw Motorhead, Megadeth, Volbeat and Lacuna Coil live. I was SUPER jealous...this year he was green with envy when I got tickets to see Rush. I reminded him of the kickass show he went to and said "This is my payback for you." =D now I'm listening to Night Prowler by AC/DC.

Motorhead is like AC/DC. You know exactly what you're gonna get on each album and there won't be any huge creative leaps but you know it's gonna kick ass. I remember an interview I read with Angus Young in a guitar magazine where the interviewer asked Young what he thought about critics who said that they'd basically made the same album 10 straight times. Young said something like, "that's fucking bullshit. We've made the same album at least 15 times."

^^ you know exactly who to quote to make this chick smile, don't you
Very true! Their sounds has stayed the same, just like Motorhead. They know what works for them and their several million fans can't be wrong hehe. AC/DC.....ugh. HOW CAN A BAND KICK SO MUCH ASS?!?! ....as you can probably tell, I'm a total dork for that band. heh.

I miss the Motorhead's Orgasmatron period....I'm mad at Lemmy for not keeping that way
But a lot of people are telling me I'm not open minded enough to appreciate changes in a band writing and it's like when a band reaches the top I just want to hear them keeping in that vein forever. It's always the same with me, I always prefer bands third or fourth albums. For instance Helloween 'Keeper of the seven keys part 1 & 2' Metallica 'Ride The Lightning & Master of Puppets' Accept 'Balls to the wall & Restless & Wild' Wasp 'Inside the Electric circus & The last command' Malmsteen 'Trilogy & Odyssey' Iron Maiden 'The Number of the beast & Somewhere in time' Megadeth 'Peace sells but who's bying & Rust in peace'............I've got the third and fourth album obsessive symptom lol Last edited by shysnale; 11-03-2013 at 12:27 PM. |
