My house has been severly damaged in a flood. Or I guess I should say is being severly damaged, we still have 2 feet of water to go before it crests

I'm absolutely heart broken. Everything in the basement will have to be replaced, as well as the main floor gutted. We were able to get most stuff to the 2nd story and anything of real value out of the house, but still. I've put my heart and souls into every inch of that place and now I have to start over. I just have my fingers crossed nothing happens to the foundation. It's well over 100 years old so I'm very worried about that. My house is an historic house (it was the first post office in my town), and the oldest building left in my town as well.

Thank you everyone. I just got home from checking out the damage and it's really bad

the worst part is we still have a foot and a half to go. Theres about 2 inches of water on the main floor. I have to wait until at least Tuesday before I'll be able to get back in (the water was rising and it became unsafe to go back). We're going to be living in my bosses cottage for the foreseeable future.

I'm very lucky in that I have an army of people who are helping me. I wasnt able to get out anything besides the things that can't be replaced and our very basic day to day things ( most things are safe on the upper level, I just can't get to them). But everyone has been rallying around us. So we'll be ok.
