The movie section is F**ked up - Rape Board

I have been here on RB for a little while and have from time to time looked through the movie section for things to download.Now though i don't touch anything unless the poster has been here a while and gotten positive feed back.There are so many scumbags loading up infected files.I would say that 90 percent of new people upload stuff are trying to screw you one way or another....It's a mess...

This is not an indictment(did i spell that right?)of the MODs here.They do all they can and more to try and alleviate the problem but there is just to much to be done and to many assholes posting.

At one point(during the DAYS OF THE RAT)you could hide your movie links by assigning a post count number to see the download links.Is there a way to make it that you have to have lets say 25 posts b4 you can put up movies?I don't know if many spammers/virus/dickless loaders would take the time to get their post count up enough to do their evil deeds.

I know this might then turn into the "THXs/Thanksss"problem that plagued us during the Days of the Rat but it just seems like this problem is getting worse and worse.

I thought of asking Phantom about this in the Phantom Zone but i wanted everyone's thoughts and feed back.

Sorry to go off like this.

So what do YOU think?

Needless to say the idea that has been floated about moderated first {one or three or five, whatever} posts may be the way to go. You are absolutely right. The movie section more closely resembles a mine field surrounded by bandits.

I think a 25 post amount before a movie post is a great idea, but do the the mods have the tools and can they get permission to use them from admin?

Does the system have the ability to differentiate between different kinds of posts?

As you have stated before, this isn't a democracy. If it were, that idea would get my vote!

If the tools do not exist, how about a minimum time frame as a member before any kind of post? Most of these guys are stopped within a few hours after their post, but they show up the next day with a new name. Rather than every day, we could reduce their visits to once every 10 days or 21 days.

To admin, this is just a numbers game. The more visitors and the more page views equates to more income and value. I doubt if anything will change that might reduce the number of visitors. Spammers and phishing folks also count as visitors.

I doubt if there are less perverts in the world, so what caused the drop in numbers? I believe that the clutter and danger on the board chases off a lot of newbies. I also believe that admin has a different idea.

Why do the mods not have the tools they require?

It's more a matter of whether or not the admin wants to do it.

How about splitting the movie section into two parts?
One for everybody to post there, one closed for creating threads. But mods may move there the threads from open section by request, based on rep points or something like that.
Not sure if it is possible and if it is too much work to do that. Then the original poster may continue to post in his thread in closed section.

The open section may probably be even less checked for spam, as the good threads will be filtered up. That may take some work from mods too probably?

I think TD1 and Snarkapo's ideas are very good ones, for the reasons stated but also another reason. I think if new members had to make a minimum of say 25 posts then we would, of course, get loads of 'thanks posts' etc but maybe people will also come to other parts of the board, make a couple of posts and bingo before you know it are more involved members of the community and will stick around to take part in RB not just to leech off it.

Wishful thinking no doubt, but I think when new members such as doorsunlocked etc joined they made a big impact, this place can seem a lil slow sometimes, of course she joined discuss rape fantasy etc not to leech, but the point i'm making (if you still reading my shitting post by now) is that if people have to post they may find they like it and stick around and become part of the community.

Just a kind of add on point.

(That by the way is a lyric from a song I once wrote.)

The solution is really rather simple, but it may involve you lot putting your egos to one side and co-operating with each other. Why don't you all get together and form a movie club with a view to setting up your own hosting site? You'd be able to control access of both uploaders and downloaders, and if anybody starts whingeing about other members, RB admin or staff or any other fucking thing you can kick them out of the club.

And who knows (dare I say it?) you may even be able to involve members from other sites you all know and love.

Or are you all communists and expect the powers that be to wipe your arses for you?
