Women & Alcohol
Is it bad to ask a woman if she gets drunk often ?
I mean of course if she's a complete stranger then you really deserve a double slap in your face, but it happened to me to ask a woman I knew quite well if she was drinking a bit and she told me to go fuck myself. It screwed my head for 4 fucking days. I can understand the woman condition leads to some pride like chastity and for instance I have no problem to understand a woman would feel umconfortable if asked about her age because you women are constantly under the pressure of the multimedia trying to tell you what beauty is and how you should look like; but alcohol ?????? I really do not understand, again, I knew that girl well because she is the waitress of the bar I go everyday since years and I though some complicity was there and I could ask that but why the hell did she get so upset ? Is there something with alcohool and being a woman ? |

Shy, no one with an alcohol problem likes to admit it. Male or female, a drunk doesn't want someone to ask them if they have a problem with booze. If that is the issue, in time she will either come to terms with it and deal with it, or she'll just fall deeper into her own personal hell.
Also, if she isn't drinking too much, it may be something she felt you were implying - i.e. that she is a lush. That could piss her off too. Don't sweat it, it's not just women. The Squid |

Besides what Squid says, dont forget she's a woman. She can go upset to a reason that us humans do not consider reasonable!

Shy,
You also must realize that lots of people, men and woman (but mostly women ) do a lot of things but do not like to deal with the reality of those things. She may drink up a storm and, in some cases, then jump into bed with any "cute" guy in the room, but in the light of the next day she does not want to be reminded of it or seemed to be judged because of it. It is odd that in today's "loose" society, even the wildest girl in the office still wants to parade around in a chaste smock. She may brag to the ladies that she can get any guy she wants, but will recoil at the suggestion that many men a poor reputation makes. The same is true for the lessor sins of drinking or mild drugs. "I got so ripped this weekend" is a brag I hear Monday morning from both male and female co-workers. However, if I ask, "did you get ripped THIS weekend?" I would get a negative response. It has to do with control and the lack of it. If you are a "vamp" you are in control. If you are a "slut" you are not. If you a one who "knows howe to party," control. If you are a drunk, no control. Does that help? |

It is also all in how you ask the question.
You can't ask someone even who you know if you drink a bit. You have to phrase it to be less threatening and not attacking her ego or whatever. |
