Sexual Addiction
Is sex a drug ?
Can you go on without it ? Do you feel the orgasm as a necessary way to 'empty' or to refresh your mind ? |

Yes, like anything, sex can be a drug. For me, it is and I am quite "happy" (well, not happy as such) to admit that I have a sex addiction. I use porn, fantasies and masturbation to make myself feel good, deal with frustration, anger, boredom, low self-esteem and generally fill that empty space inside me.
I have tried the whole "going cold turkey" thing but I realised that that only deals with the sex addiction itself but not the underlying issues. I working on the hypothesis that if I can deal with the underlying issues then gradually I'll have less need to resort to sexual stuff. |

Embrace your inner pervert! That's what I did and I'm a happier man for it!

its not something i cant do without but in general i'm a much nicer person when i have regular satisfying sex. i'm just generally more content. had to go cold turkey for a while when i was pregnant and to tell the truth the hormones made me nuts! in that condition tho i think it was a little more than just the lack of a good seeing to!

I always thought the inner pervert controlled the outer one myself? Maybe I should write a book on this stuff?

I've never been addicted to sex, but there was a time I was addicted to masturbation.

I've been addicted to cybersex, the freedom to do anything, the connection on the mental & emotional level that I've never gotten through regular sex. I haven't had that connection for years at this point, so I'm off it. Regular sex? Nope - leaves me cold.

Sex addiction does not just mean addiction to the physical act of intercourse. It can also mean addiction to masturbation, pornography, cybersex, pretty much anything that causes sexual arousal.
Another sign of sex addiction is if u r spending money that you don't have to "get high" so to speak. |

B: I can take it or leave it when it comes to physical sex, but I'd be lost with my pornography. Seems I look at pics nearly every day, but hey, they make me happy so why not? C: Refresh. It helps to relieve my daily stresses. Note to "somedude": If you wrote a book about the inner pervert controlling the outer pervert, I'd read it! Sounds like it'd be kinda funny! |

thanks a lot to all of you !
As for me, I think I used to be addicted to masturbation but I also spent long time without it (a year). I have noticed masturbation kind of refresh my mind, like a computer you reboot, all the programs running behind stops. I've read somewhere that sex with emotions (love) is not addictive. Love is so strong in your mind that it kinda makes a distance with the 'flesh' pleasure so you don't only focus on the carnal feeling. |

I am addicted to oxygen, breathing. Can't live without it, can't love without it.
In fact, I think about good old Oxy all the time, man, such rush I get, when I can't breathe, and hold my breath for a solid minute, I need air, I need air, I need it, and when I let myself go and I breathe, wow, that satisfies my addiciton. Now, why do some people say that addiction is so bad? Yeah, they are addicted to something also, yeah they are. Some are addicted to money, some are addcited to porn, some to drinking, some to gambling, some to women, some to guys, etc. Me, I am addicted to oxygen, gotta have it. Coz, if I can have it, I die. ......and if I die, I can come back like the Night of the Living Dead. ....and when I come back I will have one more addiction, yeah, your flesh, baby, you bloody red meat.. Damn Love It!!! |

(1) You spend more money than you have in order to satisfy the addiction; or (2) it leads to an avoidance of reality as opposed to an escape from reality; or (3) It leads you to cause physical or mental harm to yourself or other people; or (4) It leads you to put yourself at unnecessary physical or legal risk. There may be other indicators of an addiction that is out of control. Requiring oxygen to live can't be called an addication because it is a scientific fact that a person will die without oxygen. Ditto for water. |
