My Patience Is Wearing Thin!

Hello all.

The current spam post situation really doesn't seem to be abating. There are still large amounts of pointless posts that are clogging up this section of the board. It makes finding good posts very time consuming and quite honestly, very frustrating. I know I am not alone in my feelings.
I understand the admin and mods are working extremely hard in policing the board and that is massively appreciated by myself! However it feels like an uphill struggle.
I have felt very much like stopping uploading for the benefit of the members here before, and worked through it. I have a great deal of materials to offer everyone and really want to, but my frustrations with the state of this particular section of the board is bringing about a desire to stop completely.
So my friends, I guess I am asking for your help. I know many of you value my uploading and that's great. If any of you have any reasoning to share with me as to why I should continue then please do so.
I know it has been mentioned that there are things being put into place to help out the active board users. I think it would be nice for somebody to maybe share what some of those things are, even if someone tell me privately.
Depending on how this message is received, and the kind of feedback or information I receive will ultimately help me decide if I delete of restrict my existing video posts later today!
Undoubtedly a bunch of you will feel I am whining, that's not the case at all. I have just had enough and want someone to help me restore faith in what was the best FSRF sharing board.

Old mate, you know that I'll back you in any decision that you make. I think that it was better in the old days when all the great uploaders like Sani, Zodiac, Lupo, Deputy etc posted all their movies just for the pleasure of it. It has not been the same since they stopped. I always supported the leechers who really appreciated the postings but I can't abide the lurkers who wouldn't previously join and just helped themselves without thanking the poster. They only joined because there wasn't any other way to get the movies. The only way out of this quandary that I can see is either to get all the great posters back like before is to be unrestricted, or alternatively restrict the forum to posters only. All this hopeless spamming is not solving anything and just pissing everyone off. The only solution that I can see mate is to either keep the forum for posters or have it open slather. For that, the rules will have to be changed. Whatever you decide mate we will live with, I personally am not so interested in the movies as to the well being of this board.

because it will get better . believe it or not , it really will . i'm not posting like i was for a while (it comes and goes with me) now just working on reloading things . i can't tell you what to do or how to do it my friend , but i know things will get better on RB .

I do agree with Lemarchand that I'm much disppointed to spend so much time to throw away the spam and find (there is some left) the jewels.

Will be very pleased if the mods find a solution to our problem.

I totally understand what your saying Lemarchand and the fact that your still trying to post movie says something about what kind of guy you are.I appreciate your work and if you wanted to stop posting until this is over,thats ok because people are still spamming the crap out of this board.The poster above me (Chewie1818)is an example of that.I can't for what ever Sanitarium has up his sleeve and we just have to wait for it

I think Rapeboard staff should step back and rethink about the current system. Everything was well and good until links started dying, then restrictions were put in place, so the lurkers have no choice but to come out and start posting. You cant expect everyone to have something to contribute. Believe it or not, RapeBoard was actually much more thriving and active BEFORE the restrictions. So not only did putting restrictions fail to attract more contributors, it actually drove some regular uploaders away, and made the situation worse with the spamming.

So Rapeboard needs to consider how it will change the system. How to protect the links, and how to make sure people can access the links without too much hassle.

Cheers DarkOne, I really appreciate the messages you and everyone else has dropped in this thread, I really do. But then there's a post like that from Chewie...and it's like one step forward and two back. logically, as Faith No More state in "A Small Victory" it shouldn't bother me...but it does!

I feel like all the stands I take for lurkers are being pushed back by their very behavior.

I publicly stated that I didn't agree with elitism within a sharing community...but if there's any way I could have been proved wrong then here it is!

I have over 80 existing movies available for download in my thread. Others have more some have less...the point is that they are there to share....and a whole bunch of "Penis Polishers" (cheers Devilsown!) who are desperate for easy nasty porn to wank over refuse to pay attention to the requests of members here who actually take the time to upload them, and put those shares in jeopardy.

Honestly I don't think a change in the system is going to do very much at all....the behavior of the fuckwits posting spam will most likely continue for the next several months even if there is a system change. If it does continue like that then I will undoubtedly be out of here!

It may be extreme, but right now it feels like a fresh start is the only realistic viable option. I just wish I had a better insight into the plans of the admin staff...I'd probably be less fucked off right now and be much more reasonable, but hey...what can you do?
The funny thing is a lot of the way I feel comes from a sense that I can't do a damn thing to affect what's going on here.
Bizarrely, I publicly opposed the setting up of the movie guild by Sani, and now I see exactly why the movie guild is a good idea...and for a guy who believes he understands and supports lurkers, that's a pretty disappointing feeling!

Lem, I don't think the spamming was this bad before the restrictions. I remember at least 80-90% of the thank you posts were genuine, why? Because people could actually download the movie and view it before replying. Sure the number of replies were a bit lower, since most lurkers never bothered to registered (admitedly, inlcuding myself). But the replies were genuine because they were replying even if they didn't have to.

The movie guild is indeed one of the many possible solutions. A private forum where only contributors can have access will be successful for awhile, but only for awhile. I say this because i have been in those forums before, yes a few years ago when i wasn't so busy with my work i did upload and contribute alot..... but a couple months later after the initial rush wears off, the number of uploads drop significantly especially since the number of downloaders and leechers are much much lower. So it's the same group of people interacting with each other, and the same videos in circulation. Thats why i think a movie guild should be the last resort.

Don't assume things that you might not know. Like the fact that when i first came on here, Rapeboard wasn't full of people's threads, instead it was one movie per thread and there was hundreds of threads. So to judge me by looking at my join date and my rep, makes it kind of ironic to call me naive.

And I am fully aware of Sanitarium's contributions. My point was that since he is not the admin, I wonder if he can make the decisions. Because many people here, like yourself, who probably joined at the time when he was power posting, assumed that he is the head honcho here, and expect him to solve everything.

As a relative newcomer to this board I haven't felt qualified to make any comment on the situation that you've got with deleted postings but for what its worth, heres my thoughts for the record.
First of all, excellent work by Sanitarium and Stainless. Its nice to see a board where the members and Mods care enough to do something when theres a problem. They have the evidence and I have no doubt would not have acted without the certainty that EzzDzz is the culprit for the deletions. His response is posted in his defense but before anyone starts to feel sorry for his situation I would say this - there are no guilty men in prison. What I mean by that is that everyone who is guilty of something has an excuse. "I didn't do it", "It couldn't have been me because" or indeed "It was me and my excuse is". There was never any chance that the culprit was going to admit to his or her actions on this board or anywhere else. Personally I think that they did it because of a playground bully mentality. Forget the theory that they know someone who was raped or are against rape themselves. We are all against real rape surely. They had a feeling of power, gained by denying other members of the board the enjoyment of watching the vids. Pure selfishness really.
But the situation has given rise to another potential problem. When I came along it wasn't uncommon for posters to ask for thanks from downloaders so this was encouraged and theres nothing wrong with it. Now we call these thanks messages Spam and want to stop them. Then we introduced the viewing restrictions where you could only get the movie links with a set number of posts - some as high as thirty. Now there is talk of allowing access to the movie links only to those who post. Where are we going here?
The truth is that if you limit viewing by setting a number of posts before the links are revealed, you are encouraging spam. You already have the results of this in the number of one word posts that you have here.
The second option, limiting the vids section only to those who post vids themselves will result in either a dead board or so much rubbish here that you will have to wade through dozens of posts to get to the quality. Thank god this board is one of the best around but not everyone has vids to post or knows how to post with caps etc. Anyone who like me has had the experience of downloading off Limewire will know the absolute dross that is shared there - from two second clips to advertising spots to files that have the sexiest descriptions, take hours to download but when played only give you a blank screen and a noise resembling morse code. You don't want that sort of stuff posted here but you need to be more careful when thinking about your restrictions so as not to encourage that stuff. For some people if access is limited to posters only, a post is a post no matter whats in it.
Don't forget peeps, that just because you've had one bad apple in here you don't need to over restrict your board. Yes, EzzDzz could have spoiled everyones fun permanently. But then we could finish the job off for him.... We've already started by losing Lemarchand!

Who ever said that the restrictions were made to attract people to post? The restriction option installed to protect the links from reporting.

Firstly Romer, there wasn't any deliberate encouragement from any members to say "Thanks" for the uploads. The thanking behavior was primarily a courtesy thing. It NEVER crippled the board in the way it does now. The only reason you see these posts is as an easy way to increase post count.

The restriction exist because it wouldn't be terribly difficult for ezzdx to gain access to the board and start a new account...hell if he has a laptop all he has to do is hang out somewhere with wifi and he's got new access...even in egypt that's not hard!
So we are in a catch 22, set our limits to protect against the likes of ezzdx or accept the fact there are a host of members who would clog up this movie and pics board to increase their post count rather that pop into the Idle Talk area and tell everyone what they love or are listening to...or pay a visit to the rowdy room and start a fight, and increase their post count that way. That is the primary reason why I started certain threads in the idle talk room...those threads are popular amongst long standing posters...but not new members.

The problem is that we are now in over our heads...Even if we all removed all restrictions from our links...if Sani suddenly posted 450 movies in a single swoop...it would take MONTHS for the current behavior of idiots who don't read the rules of the board or the requests of certain users to change their spam posting.

If you know anything about my history of posting...no matter how brief people feel that to be, you would know that I have been fervently opposed to elitism on the board. However current affairs here pretty much demand that I be elitist if I want my links to survive....That's a fucking shame! If that means one bad apple wins then I guess ezzdx should be reeling in satisfaction.

The point is Romer, as a recent signed member...try and encourage all of those recent members who ARE making this particular sharing forum, to behave in a reasonable manner that makes this board worthy of posting uploaded files within...as opposed to complaining about the post count.
THERE ARE PLENTY OF WAYS THAT EXIST ON RAPEBOARD FOR MEMBERS TO GET THEIR POST COUNT UP THAT DON'T INVOLVE ALIENATING ALL THE MEMBERS WHO WERE GOOD ENOUGH TO SHARE VIDEO'S IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! well Sani, when u say leechers will no longer have access to the links I assume your talking about me as well which quite saddens me, I consider myself to be a good member of this board despite having not shared anything but heartfelt grattitude to those that have shared.

Its quite frustrating that the spammers are ruining things, I just hope that I dont have to pay the price for what others have done.

We didn't know that when the restrictions plugins were installed.

Are you sure that, now more than ever, free links won't get reported by a lurker (or a banned member) ?
