And have you noticed, the anti-Climate change lobby is more voracious in defending its self then the fucking Spanish Inquisition.

I wonder if you know that you are wrong.

In fact, the moment of actual, exact alignment of the solstice sun with the galactic equator was 11 years ago, in 1998. The alignment actually started 18 years before that, in 1980, and continues every December solstice until 2016. There have been no observable effects from this yearly alignment whatsoever, and regardless, the precise alignment went without so much as a power outage.

Also, you could cover your eyes and point in any direction in the sky; within 1000 light years along that line of sight, you will find an average of two objects just like the so-called "Dark Rift". This 'rift' is merely a collection of some clouds of dust and molecular gas. The only thing remotely interesting about it is that it gets in the way of us seeing what ever is behind it.

This rift also has little to do with the galactic plane or equator, except that from our angle, it appears that roughly half the visible galaxy is on either side of it.

I'm just wondering when it's going to switch from climate change to, say, climate change, or stagnation, or something else bad

What you should pay attention to is "Hollywood's '2012'" and the two coinciding events on the discovery channel. These omen are clear, and point to a single possible conclusion:

Big profits all around!

My prophecies have come true, yay!

I have absolute proof that 2012 is real!!!

This afternoon I went to my kitchen to open a can of Spam.
On the can it said, and I quote,

"Use before December, 2012"

Obviously the Hormel Meat company is aware of the impending end of the world.
Why else would they put this message on their cans of Spam?????

I mean, it is not like Spam expires or anything.

Proof my dear friends.
Proof indeed.

just read through this thread from start. A lot of people attacking someone, first just flatly denying anything she says could be real, then resorting to making fun of her.

It's interesting how the person presenting the idea is calm and collected whilst the people refusing to consider it are vehement.

How many of you have researched the facts about Polar Shifts?

And also, i would love it if you would answer this question for me. It's a simple question, and i'm begging you to just answer A, B, or c. Please, pretty please, with a virgin cherry on top (or bottom)...

Is Astrology:

A. Science
B. Bollocks
c. i don't really know enough about it to have an opinion

Wink No-Brainer--!!!!

Astrology is most certainly science: studied, taught, and utilized by Newton, Galileo, just to name a couple. Astrology, was and remains; one of the foundations of the Alchemistic discipline; from which all chemistry was born.

One a serious note . . .

Astrology = Bollocks

Pure and simple.
The proof, look at the best evidence presented above,

"studied, taught, and utilized by Newton, Galileo, just to name a couple. . ."

Until their research taught them that it was ineffective to explain the world as they were discovering it.

You forgot to add Kepler to that list, by the way. He is considered the last Astrological scientist and the first scientific astrologer. He was sure that the orbits of the planets were perfect circles. The heavens, of course, were perfect, so anything up there must also be perfect. To his credit, when the facts did not support the idea, the idea was modified (orbits were not circles but ellipses).

While you are using great names of the past as your best evidence that Astrology is science, it should be remembered that the common wisdom, in the halls of education in the 19th century, was that phrenology was real and that women were only marginally more intelligent that orangutans.

I am sure that despite that, there are a few women on this board who would find issue with this idea.

Astrology, like alchemy, was the parent of its modern scientific counterpart.
However, that does not give it credibility beyond what it is.

Well at the risk of sounding all British, I gotta classify it as bollocks. It's no more science than a Ouija board or Creationism. I really don't want to dignify it by arguing whether it is science or not because there is no real argument here. It would be like arguing whether you can fly by flapping your arms very very fast as you plummet towards Earth from a plane. Pointless.
Just because a lot of people believe it is a science doesn't make it a science. If popular belief was a major qualifier to reality, then everyone who was on American Idol would be a star, George Bush would be one of the great minds of our time, and fat people would all have glandular problems that caused it. Nope.
And as for people poking fun at the person/people who are arguing that this is science (rather gently in proportion to the risibilty of the notion, I think), may I please submit that it may actually be healthy? To allow every idea equal weight despite it's ridiculousness is one sure fire way to slam any society into the dirt. To put it in the ideas of Charles P. Pierce, author of Idiot America, it is to subscribe to the Three Great Premises of Idiot America:

1.Any theory is valid if it sells books, soaks up ratings, or otherwise moves units.
2.Anything can be true if someone says it loudly enough.
3.Fact is that which enough people believe. Truth is determined by how fervently they believe it.

I think intelligent people should feel free to make fun of ideas that are, prima face, just darned silly. I'm not saying make fun of the person spouting those ideas (okay... maybe sometimes), but to at least laugh the idea out of the room is wayyy better for society as a whole when it soaks up valuable time that could be used solving problems or generating NON-ridiculous ideas or making microwave popcorn or dancing the macarena or masturbating; something more useful than giving credibilty to starkly ridiculous notions.
