1, I am horrified at the news that hollywood is planning on making a remake of Akira.
2, I think Akira is probably the best piece of sci-fi ever made.
3, I think the original manga of Akira is better than the film.
4, My new Stray Dog custom user title is a reference to Mamoru Oshii, The so called Stray Dog of anime.
5, I did alot of gardening work today.
6, I hate gardening work.
7, I can't wait for UFC 87, I think I'll go insane before it comes.
8, I'm rooting for Jon Fitch, I am however a George St. Pierre fan too.
9, I want to re-grow my beard but can't as...

1. I'm studying my codes for a test this evening while trying to think of 10 pointless facts about myself.

AWDracer, I think I may have more in common with you than you think.

As someone of a mixed ethnic background, I find it difficult to fit into either side, now at the moment, I am trying to be more caucasion. I straighten my hair and keep far from the sun so that my naturally olive skin doesnt get darker. I stay away from any eye make up because I think the lack of it makes me look more white.

A few years ago, I tried to be more Latin, but was the white girl and didnt get accepted as latin, now that I want to be my other side, I dont get accepted either, I'm the exotic girl.

What this has to do with pointless facts.....nothing

Yeah, I think you're right.

That sucks not to be accepted by either side :/. I'm going to go with the cheesy line that "you should embrace who you are", which is truism but something that is said far too often and isn't actually taken seriously. At the same time, I'd be a complete hypocrite for saying that because it's a lot harder to actually do it. Like yourself, I am influenced by a number of things which gets me more attracted to the "other side" rather than my own true heritage. My identity crisis is slightly different however because I am accepted as an Asian person (with no mixed heritage), I don't actually feel like I should belong here. I don't know. It's like racism against myself.

Well, those should contribute to the 10 most pointless facts about myself.

And on a side note since we're having a discussion, I think most people have problems or issues feeling like they don't fit in wherever they go or whatever they do. For example I'm Chinese but I'm not very traditional, but at the same time I'm pretty whitewashed but hold a lot of Asian values and I look pretty freaking old school Chinese. But both groups see that I'm different. So I'm kind of like...eh whatever, I'll do what I want, and people will just deal with it.

So for my new list of 10 things..

1. I went Asian grocery shopping and I'm eating lots of snacks.
2. I'm sad that I left my wasabi peas in the car.
3. I'm also sad that I gave a tube of chocolate covered peach gummies to my friend since I want to eat them now.
4. I bought seaweed crunchies that aren't as good as I thought they would be.
5. I went out and got lots of sushi and expected not to pay since it was a birthday shindig but then felt bad for the guy and I ended up paying for his dinner along with mine. I don't really mind, but I thought it was kind of random.
6. I want to buy lots of stuff but I don't want to squander all of my money.
7. I can't decide if I want to shave or wax.
8. My fingers hurt.
9. I want to read a book but when I read I almost always have to finish the book that I'm reading ASAP in one go so if I start a book I won't go to bed until I'm done and I have to wake up early for an 8 hour class and if I'm not rested up then I'll fall asleep in class and I'll wake up late and not get a good seat and it will be even more obvious when I do fall asleep.
10. I like to type long run on sentences. Except for these few sentences. Which are really quite short. For sentences. Hah.
