To kill a man?

First of all, I would like to point out that I am in no way looking for advice for committing a criminal act. If I ever do that, I will keep my own counsel.

So, when this whole bucket list thing kicked off the century before last, I realised that I had only one thing on it. That is, before I die, I'd like to know how it feels to kill a man. I tried once, but was prevented. To the regret of many, because a few hours later a close friend lay dead in part because if that man had died, my friend would not have.

This presents a dilemna though. Under what circumstances does a man deserve to die? For dishonouring another? For a horrendous crime? To remove a threat to ones person or property? If it were not him, it would be me?

Clearly, in an ideal world, the answer should be under no circumstance at all. We're not that naive though, are we? So I suppose what I am asking is, if you were ever to do what I hope one day to do, what would be your justification?
