Both.
While i did the dripping, it was somehow boring.It had an interest about the shape i could form (u know, cross, star, flower etc), but i guess a wood is more suitable for "art".
While it was dripped on me, it was more annoying than anything else.I guess i prefer a fly biting me...
What i noticed (the second time) is that the natural wax is hotter than the artificial one, and it falls in bigger but rarer drops.I guess it melts in higher temperature.
Anyway. In my world, candles are used for opther purposes: To give a romantic tone during love making , or to fill more than one hole during wild sex.
You know, its like a quiz: "Where is the real one now, bitch?"

And you do have to be careful which wax you use...some burn at much much higher temps and can burn!

We used to do wax dripping (me & dante). I thought it was kinda hot(sexually), but then I can only do so much of that, and then I get used to it and it has little effect. Putting hot wax on welts and cuts? Yowch, I remember the pain!
What's even more painful is putting aftershave (with alcohol in it) and salt on cuts..

Someone once recommended I use a natural black candle to do it, apparently can get pretty hot and leave a few marks. Anyone tried this?

Some helpful hints...the ideal working temperature at skin contact is generally around 120° - 125°F / 48°C - 52°C...test a spot on the arm of either yourself or your "victim"...

I've put some candle info here.

TYPE / WHERE FOUND / MELT POINT

Raw parafin (soft) / canning wax, bulk wax / 115° - 126°F
Votive candles (harder) / Barrels, cylinders up to 6 in. / 131° - 141°F
Taper-type candles (hard) / Candlesticks, table candles / 141°F or higher
Hurricane lamp candles (hard) / See left / 154°F or higher
Beeswax (waxy to hard) / Numerous candle styles, bulk / 146°F or higher


Dark...natural wax melts at really high temps, so directly droped on the skin would cause burns...best to let it pool a little then dropped...yum yum yum!

Louise if you want your pics to show in a bigger size you need to get yourself a personal private space to keep your stuff on the web. Your ISP should provide one for free. You should check that with them. It's a shame because your pics are great and they can only appear small size.
