I wonder if one of the mods would split mine and EvilJs discussion off? Maybe stick it in Idle Talk to prevent people falling out? It's a bit of a sideline to the main thread which is a bit of fun. Much as all us old bastards enjoy pointing shotguns at pesky kids on the lawn, perhaps a for fun discussion of language, and a serious discussion of language would do better on their own?

(Also it buys me more time to get my arse and my mind in gear for a reply! )

Atari, Collecovision, the original Nintendo - but now we're getting pretty modern...

I remember we had two TV's in the living room for years. One for sound (picture tube blown) and one for picture (sound went out). That made one whole set to watch. On one of them the channel knobs had broken off and you had to turn the dial with a pair of pliers.

If you worked it right - sometimes - the sound from one station would line up just enough with the picture from another and you could spend a great half hour or so while people said the most outrageous stuff that had nothing to do with the picture on the screen.

Anyone remember Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom? We had a Siamese cat that knew the theme song to that show. Anytime that song came on he would wake up from wherever he was, watch the show until the song played again at the end and then he would disappear once more!!!

yeah im totally a crazy cat lady now. Seriously I have four of them, (three of them are oriental) one of them sleeps under the covers with me and chases me around the house, and eats my string when I make stuff and nothing makes me happier. anyway moving along....

When I was 24 I was in the bondage chat rooms and stuff and thought that OMG I will NEVER be 34 thats so OLD. and fuck now I am there. Sometimes it just doesnt seem TRUE. Cause I dont feel like it.. and I was worried that Id never find men over 30 attractive? Now I find anyone under 30 unattractive! Well okay I'm definetely exaggerating theres lot of HOT young boy things around but back then I wondered what all the oldies saw in eachother. Today I'm there, and now I understand, and guess that last laugh is on me.

I miss REAL Milo Bars... thank god quad roller skates are back in fashion and those fruit boots are relegated to the lycra velodrome set. In the latest toy catalogue I was VERY impressed to see no blades in site, just quad roller skates and pogo sticks and ping pong tables and rad stuff like that!
