It's 100% confirmed to happen:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...n-8725803.html

"
Possessing pornography that depicts simulated rape is to become a criminal offence in England and Wales
"

"
videos streamed online in the UK are subject to the same rules
"

"
Every home in the UK is to have pornography blocked by their internet provider unless the householder choose to receive it, David Cameron has announced.

In the last ones, its automatic for new customers and for existing ones, the ISP's have to give them an option.

However, what our little left wing elf failed to mention, is that this government is notorious for announcing a policy and U-turning on it later, just this week we have had two massive ones, on plain packaging for cigarettes and minimum pricing on alcohol, plus God knows how many other minor and major, including a very similar bill earlier this year.

/tin-foil hat

So I'm thinking, maybe they will concede vanilla porn, but still get to criminilize rape-porn possession and streaming (which was the aim all along) and ppl will be like "phew, that's not so bad".

That is a distinct possibility, and most people who download and stream it will go 'shrug' and carry on as normal...

Will wait and see if this is just a sensationalist headline and things are still planned. Rape porn could well still be made illegal. It's hilarious considering his adamant statements "It WILL happen!" though.

It's all just a bunch of hot air. It's been tried all over the globe and until they can globally regulate sites like this (which has its server in Russia) something tells me they can't do it. There's no economic advantage.

All they are doing is pissing people off and making themselves look foolish

All they are trying to do is make themselves look good by dealing with a problem that does not exist because they haven't got a fucking clue how to fix the real problems of deficits, unemployment and poverty.

Total wankers the lot of them.

Mind you it worries me that every time I key "rape" into my keyboard some jobsworth on a bonus scheme will be looking out for me.

This country (UK) is becoming a very sad place to live.

You continue to overlook the fact that it's NOT JUST MOVING-PICTURE/STILL-PICTURE PORN that we will lose public-PC access - public-libary-level censorship of "tastelessness" will be imposed on all internet cafes when this happens. Anyone who believes "the Scunthorpe problem is a thing of the past" either doesn't use the internet, or...

There are 2 real problems here..... Government.... and Big corporations. The notion of big brother should be changed to Big Brothers. Corporations already spy on everything you do online, and then sell that information to other companies. Don't believe me.... try downloading firefox and using their tool called "Collusion". It tracks who tracks you, and who potentially gets sold your browsing information. In under 3 days of using it over a 100 different companies had access to what sites I visit.....

The internet will be a very different place in 20 years. Companies that want to control what information you see, and can tell people will have rules and filters all over the place. Politicians will only make rules that campaign contributors tell them to make....

Can you say North Carolina?

If the site is hosted outside the country having the anti#porn#rape legislation maybe it's safe to say the law has no power.....as Sierra said it is downloading a video that gives authorities the power to incriminate you. Every download leaves a track on servers with your ip. So the best would be to use this nice free proxy manager called SafeIp that allows you in just one click to use proxies all around the world...then download the vid, watch it, and delete it ?

What you will see is "Filters" being imposed by government law, (and ISP corporate policy) begin to emerge. Right at the source. In essence, your cable or phone company providing you the service will block content so it doesn't have a chance to get to you.....

Even if by some chance you were able to get access to this content, the government and private corporations are already monitoring and tracking your browsing habits. Today, its for marketing and national security..... tomorrow its for information control. Information is power, and they don't want you to have it.... or be able to organize, or anything that would rock the cash boat they control.

oh, and sites like you describe.... proxy hosts, making your surfing impossible to trace..... I'll bet those will also be banned, shut down, and made illegal. I'll bet ISP's, or some gov't agency is hard at work making a system of delivering internet to you and me that will make changing IP addresses impossible to do on your own.

At one time you could just plug in a cable modem to a working outlet and you'd have internet access whether you subscribed or not..... so, they got smart and changed it. Now, the modem is registered or it does"t work.

When the law becomes effect, will Google be punished for providing "undesirable content" in their search results? Fucking right they will be. Soon they, and other search engines will block the content also.... either by law, or social responsibility... (or because they are being paid to do so, or made to do so.)

This will all take some time, but 20 years is not a lot of time..... Fuck, in 20 years Great Britain will be under Sharia Law anyways. And in 20 years the internet will be a very different place.

Cheers,

Have you ever heard about Seo ? (Search engine optimisation) it's tricks for webmasters to rank higher in Google, even in unrelated searches. Ex : (a porn site showing up in gg first page with synonym keywords like 'have a sexy body') Sites showing up in GG first page aren't always the best...and not always related to your search ! but GG is known to be the most accurate search engine around ! Do you really think the police can come up with a better, more accurate algorithm to identify porn sites and block them ?

It's like browser filters parents use to hide porn from teens....it's never 100% efficient because there's always a way to adjust your site main keywords, adjust texts, make a page unreadable for bots ... you know I had this site once and a guy from Iran could register and he told me he had to struggle to find me because Iran govt was blocking tits and boobs sites but he could find porn sites by typing synonymous keywords and look at GG 100th results page. They can slow you down in your quest for porn but they can't completely block.

Here in France the police doesn't even have enough people to make the law in the streets ! They are so short staffed they hire new folks until the age of 36 ! So I'm not sure they have enough guyz to watch over the whole web. I've read that article two or three years ago saying there was more than 72 million websites online.....and growing...... plus the www. network is not the only one..... there is ww2. as well and some others...

You know you can set your own home proxy with a router. That can never be banned. I've heard about Dns root severs databases available on the hacking market. That means you have all server ip adresses and you can connect straight to them without sending a DNS request to your Isp.....so they have no idea what you're doing..

Some European countries have sued GG when they had the Google mobile car shooting pics all over the place for the Google Map project.....and they failed ! It seems as hard to punish GG as it is to punish Microsoft.

So everyone has accepted the fact it will be illegal and are just thinking of ways around that are currently not needed since it's not currently illegal, proxy this, proxy that, that's not gonna work. . . or downplaying it as tin-foil hattery, nothing to fear etc.

Also about manpower to investigate, It's very shortsighted to assume someone is actually sitting somewhere on an hourly wage realtiming what happens online. There are computers that can calculate billions of chess moves per second you don't think they've already modeled collective potentials on simple browsing and downloading habits.

If a traffic flags someone is streaming (yes that will be illegal too) "poorly acted clearly fake russian rape-porn" (for example), a report can be generated, someone looks at the report later. Correlates who the flagged traffic is going to inside the UK and then they investigate further. Probably build up a case on everything you do and all your search queries to beef up a conviction. You get a letter one day giving you a court date.

As time goes on it seems "they" will find a way to persecute you no matter what you do anyway. . . so to entertain more tinfoil hattery:

As with many issues of law enforcement and legality from tax dodging to speeding, they will go for the easy targets.
Oh and Shysnale , i don't suppose you can recommend a similar Mac compatible version of Safe IP ?

Yes

* Free : Tor, Anonym
* Not Free (but there might be cracks somewhere) : Netshade, MacProxy, Hyde-My-Ip

But these progs arent's easy to find.

Crotchripper, is it just links to rape stuff that are forbidden or all links ?
Besides, does that rule only apply in the General Rape Forum ?
Because there's plenty links in the Rowdy Room and Idle Talk...

Absolutely ridiculous. Out of interest what would the viewing of rape scenes from main stream movies be classed as under their crack down? Particularly if it is an especially graphic scene? If you were to download the whole movie then, i'm sure there would nothing they could do about it, however what if they tracked you specifically downloading purely the rape scenes?

Just a thought!
