It is blah because we get the same problems kicked around time after time, nothing gets done or solved because the moderators bless 'em only have limited tools and only so much time to spare. And with some of the crap going on lately it wouldn't surprise me if the moderators decided to give a smaller share of their time to this place as a consequence of all the fucking thanks they get.

I don't mean to belittle the consequence of getting a virus, it can be pretty disastrous. But if you sign up to Internet porn that is a risk you take and should be prepared for.

I know your second part was in joke, but what I'm suggesting is you all get together and DO SOMETHING about it yourselves instead of always expecting the staff to do it for you.

After all it may be a very long time before they're giving more resources than they already have. And if/when they do get them it doesn't necessesarily mean they're going to have the extra time that may be needed to implement more tools and enforce extra rules.

Not everyone that just posts in the vid section is a leecher. Some people just want to share and exchange vids. That's how I was at first and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Some people don't really want to make friends online or just don't have the time.

I lurked here while before I posted for the first time. The first time I posted I was accused of stealing someone else work. That made me not want to post much outside the vid section. Some people here come down pretty hard on newbies and scare them. Which is why I'm guessing people don't post outside the vid section. I know it made me not want to. But I stuck around cause I enjoyed the vids certain members posted and I wanted to give back.

I slowly felt more comfortable and began to post else where on the board.

No it's not up to the mods. They're job is to get rid of spam, intercede in disputes, ban spammers and trolls and rude/nasty people, and generally make sure rules don't get broken.

What they don't need is a continuous narrative of what's wrong with this site, how you'd like to see this that or the other changed etc. You want spam and virus free porn for nothing? Start your own hosting site, agree amongst yourselves who and what you're going to allow to upload/download, invite whoever you think would be a good contributing member and don't invite anybody you don't trust.

But for fucks sake, no sooner do you get a spam reporting thread and a crap porn reporting thread, somebody is asking for a troll reporting thread, or tinker with the rep system or limits on posting. In other words let's give the mods and admin more work to do why don't we? Oh, and it's not enough that Somedude, Phantom, Becka, Sternenlied and recently returned Sodoman give their time free, why don't we charge them for the privelege of moderating all the petty squabbles and complaining.

Actually what I think should happen is ban the fucking lot of us for a week and lock all the movie sections away for a while. Maybe that's all that would work to show us what a fucking bunch of ungrateful wankers we all are, because this place costs us nothing at yet we clog it up with pointless celebration threads, complaints about this that and the other that the moderators should be doing, petty arguements over who should be posting what and where, and picking on people just because of their profile pics.

That said, it was all meant with the friendliest intent.

There might be a solution for this problem. I created a social group for movie posters:

http://www.rapeboard.com/group.php?groupid=10

This group goes by invite only so that it can be controlled who is posting in there. On the other hand it's viewable by everybody and so everybody can download from it.

That won't prevent the movie section from the spammers but it is a place where you can get movies without worrying about spam and malware.

Please, mods and rapeboard users, let me know what you think about it.

I was drawn here by the vids. I too lurked for a while and then started posting. I have seen an exponential increase in spam, phishing and other dangerous posts. That increase coincides with the decrease in visits to this site. I do not believe that is a coincidence. At one point last night there were only 79 people viewing the movie section. Thatâ€™s the lowest number that Iâ€™ve ever seen.

I know that theDarkOne disagrees, but it is my belief that the movie section is the lifeâ€™s blood of this site.

Unless Iâ€™m very different than others, when I go to a site and get bombarded with spam and pop ups, I just do not go back. I fear that some virus programmer may be one step ahead of my last anti-virus program update.

We can hammer on this until hell freezes over and nothing will come of it until admin and the mods get involved and allow changes. You will notice the almost deafening silence in this thread from the mods. Admin obviously has their hands tied. So, unless there is a change of or by admin, we are simply pissing into a gale force wind.
