I’m not saying that I’m on board with the 19th century methodology, but it worked.

Approximately 186 men held off an army 11 times their number for 13 days while Houston organized his army. When the Alamo fell, those 186 men had killed 1/3 of the Mexican army. FR, I have never claimed to be anything other than a Texan of average intelligence. Other than being a native Texan, I have no royal lineage. Any numb nut that can read or manage to stay awake through the plethora of BBC and History channel documentaries on the history of Britain knows what British is and has the source of the word memorized. Britain is a part of my history and it is therefore my duty to study that history. It is blatantly obvious to even a casual observer that British history is replete with blind arrogance. The Scots I know here intensely dislike the British. The British Empire has slowly deteriorated and is a small shadow of its former self. Each country that fights and finally gains its independence bears a hatred for the Brits for about a century. Prior to WWI, President Woodrow Wilson publically compared the Germans to murderers and the British to thieves. Britain has given and taken a great deal. But, what have they done lately?

In May, a Muhammad cartoon contest was held in Garland, Texas. A prize was offered for the best drawing of Muhammad. Two out of state Muslim terrorists drove into town and parked outside the convention center. They were heavily armed and wore body armor. They left their car to begin a mass murder scenario. They opened fire on a off duty uniformed security guard. The guard was immediately wounded in the ankle. Before they could do further injury, a Garland police officer pulled off some nicely placed head shots and killed both terrorists.

One of the chalk outlines in the parking lot of the terrorist’s bodies tied for first place in the Muhammad look alike cartoon contest. What can I say? This is Texas.

As far as the IRA bombing Texas targets, that is very unlikely. Texas Irish and Ulster Scots have always been major financial contributors to the IRA to help rid Ireland of its British oppressors.

Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland comprise Britain. Together we are British. Therefore if, as you state, the Scots intensely dislike the British, they must intensely dislike themselves. We don't, we love ourselves.
In addition, some races think we have numbers on ourselves because we call ourselves GREAT Britain. Not so! In the middle ages we owned parts of France, one area of which was called Petit Bretagne so as not to be confused with Grand (Great) Bretagne. Here endeth the lesson.
