RIP Henry Allingham - Rape Board

This name may not mean much to people outside of the UK, but Henry Allingham was the worlds oldest man. And if that was not enough he was also the last person to see active service with British forces in World War One.

He was also, the last survivor of the Battle Of Jutland, the last member of the Royal Naval Air Service (the predecessor to the modern Fleet Air Arm), and the last survivor from when it was merged with the Royal Flying Corps to form the Royal Air Force.

In later years he become the face of the World War One Veterens Association, and acted as an ambassador for them, visiting schools to talk about his experiences
