Rat Busted - Rape Board

To all members.

You all know of this rat who is reporting our links in the movies section. Many many discussions have been made about who he/she is and why is he/she doing this. Well, I think it's time to put an end on this.

For several days now I've been closely working with Stainless Steel Rat setting traps for the rat. And he (yes he is a HE) has fallen into them. As many of you already know I'm admining and modding several other boards and sites with similar and no similar content with RB. One of them is KO. As an admin there I was able to install all the necessary software to track down who visited a thread and at what time. I also installed another plugin which allowed me to track down the IPs every visitor used. And since KO is a members only board there would be no chance of mistake.

So, Stainless Steel Rat posted a movie at a certain day and a certain time. We kept records of who visited his thread. His links, of course, were reported. We kept records of the timeframe of the deletions too. And we had our first list of suspects.

We repeated the same experiment one more time. And guess what?
Only one matched!

I checked his IP over at KO and then made a research here. BANG I had the list of RB suspects too.

Well, the key to the solution was to match the two accounts. And that was revealed yesterday. When he visited KO and RB at the same time. The IPs were identical!

This coupled with additional evidence we discovered left only one possibility.

And to fullfill you curiosity .... the two accounts are :

tito11 at KO and ezzdx at RB.

Hey guys I know it sucks but unfortunately we don't know why Ezzdx did it. All we know is that he hurt some people with this action. No matter what his beef was that was not right.

I used PM with him when I started and I thought he was a standup guy and cool until recently I disagreed with some things he did.

My hat is off to both you folks for catching this Rat. Even though you explained how you went about it, I don't understand how it was done.. But I don't care!! It remains that you folks caught him.

You have my most sincere gratitude and Now I'll start posting again. When I get the uploads back onto RS. But let me throw this out. With the Rat caught should we still be hiding our links? Or go back to the way it was before? I know it's still an individual decision but I was wondering what other think.

I'd say you can start posting. If you want to limit your links just keep it low. This will prevent guests to see your links and report them. Keep in mind that we caught one, we are not sure that he was the only one!

Well, I guess I am out of the whole sphere of knowledge, because I havent been following what has been going on. I dont watch the movies, so none of this has bothered me expect for the new poster count going up times ten. All I know is that some links were deleted, probably by the owners of the links, right? Is that what it is?

a "snitch" or a "rat" is bad to everyone who does something they are not suppose to do, am I right? like someone snitching on a murderer, or a drug dealer.

If you are not suppose to be doing it, why do you do it?

I think what happened was ezzdx had a vendetta on RapeBoard, in which case he executed in a way that that none other would think of touching. He had such talk and backed that shit up.

I do have to say I am impressed by such snitchery. Everyone hates a snitch, but you got to hand it to him.

If someone snitched on me when I was doing something wrong though, I would be hella pissed, but I would take it like a man (expression) and chalk it up to a lesson learned.

And I am going to suck even more once I say this...

He didn't report (or snitch) to the copyright holders, he just reported to Rapidshare that there was "illegal content" so that Rapidshare would block the files these uploaders spent hours to upload. Rapidshare doesn't check all the files people upload so they usually take the word of the person who reports it.

I mean, I could post a video on let's say... my Summer vacation and there's nothing wrong with that. A person who hates me or what I wrote could contact Rapidshare and say it's kiddie porn (even though there's no porn or kids in it) or "illegal content" and Rapidshare would take it off without even looking at the file(s). That did happen once when I posted my brother's Capoeira Baptizado and someone who though Brazilian Ju-Jitsu was better reported my video to Rapidshare as "illegal content" even though there's nothing wrong (or violent) with it.

He's a rat because of the way he tried to give people a hard time on the board.

Rapidshare does lock the file for a week before deleting it to prevent any false reports from creating any real damage since you have 1 week to request them to check the contents of your file which was reported. By the way it does not matter what kind of porn those files did contain since RS does not accept any obscene material on their servers so even if you would be uploading your own nude picture their way of handling it wouldn't differ from rape fantasy videos.

Still the copyright issue does not have anything to do with this subject since ezzdx did thank people for the same videos that were reported so his motives were something else. Might be that he was only covering his tracks but the way the files were being reported does not support the idea of him acting because of copyrights which makes the way we are sharing files on the internet irrelevant when it comes to ezzdx's case.

There are already a topic or few about "stealing" stuff by sharing it for free on the internet so it is better to continue in those threads if there is even need to do so...

I dont know what rapidshare is, or even how members post videos they call "their own". I was very disappointed with the video section and expressed it I dont even bother with it. I wish there were easier ways to watch movies.

Anyways...I guess what everyone claims he did was not really right, but whatever.

Well the real way to watch those videos is to pay 25 dollars and you get to watch 1 single video assuming you have a DVD-drive on your computer, you have a credit card to pay with, you have all the right codecs/player on your computer, you can wait for couple of weeks for the mail to arrive and so on...

There are no easier ways to watch those videos and if you do not like the options that exist you can just skip the whole idea of ever watching rape fantasy videos.

I have skipped the idea. I have never seen one single rape movie.

I would rather buy a dvd and watch it that way. I am too afraid to download a potentially harmful and unneeded program to my pc just for the purpose of downloading rape films.

Awesome work, guys. I think for a while, everyone was under suspicion.
This incident might be a wake-up call, that some caution and barriers might be necessary going forward. Even though I was unable to see some posts, I was in agreement with the new policy, and understood the reasons for it's implementation. Thanks again to Sanitarium and Stainless Steel Rat.
