I have to agree with the IRL v. online.

I have done things in RL roleplay that we would all condemn if it wasn't merely playing. I have dressed in my Catholic school uniform and played the part of an underage virgin being forced. That would be reprehensible if I had not been well over the age of consent at the time. Hell, even rape itself is just plain wrong if the victim isn't willing. That said, I do have my hard limits for in-person games - which are probably far too tame for some of you lot.

I don't have a problem with anyone's fantasy life, even if it includes something that might make me want to either vomit or do physical harm to the person doing it. I can simply click to the next post. I have done things in various RPs that would have gotten us both killed, committed or arrested. I might not find a particular activity appealing, but I don't judge anyone else's kinks. I have too many of my own.

I am very much in agreement with the points made by jwham and GC. There is a difference between RL, RP, and writing - my tirade above was focused just on RL.

The bar of course is raised in RP and for me the boundaries are set based on what's pleasurable for me AND my partner. Although in RP there are some hard limits for me as well, some of those can be softened - as in Sierra's excellent point concerning the ability to explore underage themes through age play, especially since the activities are between two consenting adults.

Writing, the final frontier, is wide open and the bar is only limited by the site's rules. Delving into hard limits within stories, even shocking ones (using Jwham's term) only adds to the realism, allowing the writer to explore the personalities and viewpoints shared between the mix of characters involved.

IRL what we do for RP is basically dependent on two things; the safety and well-being of both parties, and the hard limits of your partner. I would never force a partner to go beyond their limits unless I cleared it with them first and they agreed to it and if they didn't, I wouldn't push the matter. I've seen a few BDSM relationships end because one of the people in it felt like they were being pushed into doing things they didn't want to do on a regular basis. Sometimes no really does mean no, even in rape roleplay.

Online, there's no safety issue. I always ask my partner what is out of bounds as well as what they are looking for. I always tell them the things that turn me on as well. A good roleplay is a product of good communication between all of the participants. Sure, sometimes they go in unexpected directions but usually I have a pretty good idea that the other person won't mind, or they know that I won't.

As for my hard limits, other than the usual (bestiality, underage, scat) there are few things I won't do online. IRL I won't deliberately cause injury to the other party other than some bruising. I won't use weapons because it's too easy for accidents to happen and I'm a bit of a klutz. And while I love the concept of breathplay and waterplay and use them in my stories and RPs I won't in real life. Call me a wimp or a wuss but I won't risk my partner's life under any circumstances. No orgasm is worth it.

I would have to say that your points are valid for the reason being that they are your point of view. I will agree with scat and children. I'm not a fan of pissing and shitting on someone and I don't even want to get close to thinking about children in sexual activities.

However, just as you have your opinions, I have mine as well. I do enjoy the idea of an animal being used to rape a woman for a final insult. That's just my thing, it may not be for everyone, but it doesn't really hurt anyone if its in my fantasy. Of course, I'm also a bit of a fan of certain Japanese Hentai where women are raped by monsters. Again, its something I enjoy, not meant for everyone.

Monsters I like. Demons, vampires, werewolves are all fine. But I love animals and can't abide by them being portrayed in this way, even in fantasy settings - and don't even mention real life!

Well, I think limits are what make fantasy, and how it allows you to deal with differentiating RL and Online stuff.

For example, I'd never do scat/piss, animals, children, but I also totally love fantasies about demons raping women, so setting up ground rules is important, and learning what your partners' fetishes/likes/dislikes as well.

I also agree about the 2 points of view. Fantasy Rape (online, stories...) and RL RP Rape.

I don't like scat but I enjoy watersports.
And also I can enjoy watching bestiality against a victim.

But the differences between Fantasy and RL RP for me are minors and blood.
I like teen rapists in my fantasies but never teen victims. But I would never want teens in a RL RP Rape.

Golden showers, however, I have a slightly different view on. Generally, I don't care for it, in that it is not a turn on, as such. Snuff and drugged victims don't do it for me either, although I admit I have a little scenario I'm fond of where I am awakened by an attacker.
