Not Hungry Today
I am like the full lion, watching for the prey to pass me by but not caring if I find it. My police cruiser is pulled back, blocked from view by foliage. I sit with my arm out the window, pointing the radar gun at passing vehicles, hoping for a speeding violation to break the monotony of the afternoon. I see your red sports car drive by, a trail of your blonde hair whipping in the wind as you pass. The radar gun shows you under the limit but now I’m intrigued. I fire up my vehicle and pull in behind you, flicking my lights on. I drive up behind you as you pull off to the shoulder and walk casually out of my vehicle to your driver side window. As I look down at you I get a top down view of your cleavage and feel a dull ache within my body. Reflexively, I look for a position of domination, of control.
“Do you know how fast you were going?” I ask.
