Sternenlied, I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way, and I apologies if they do, but what's wrong with racism? My definition of racism is kind of like yours. I consider myself to be a racist. I don't have any problem with black people (I have a black friend, to that matter), but I acknowledg that humans are seperated into different races. Thousands of years of living in different continents caused it. You can't just ignor it. Furthere more, I think the races must be kept seperated when breeding is concerned. Each and every race has it's own special qualities and mix breeding, to my opinion, causes those special qualities to dim and fade. White people are beautifull, and black people are beautifull. But each race must be kept as pure as possible in order for it to reach it's own full potentsial.

"Human" is the race. We are all of the same race, the same species. Skin pigmentation, eye shape, whatever - all those things are just genetic variations among one race (mostly created to maximize the chance of survival given the different climates in which the various cultures of our race originated), that's it.

Okay. I apologize for the cheap shot on the spelling. Spelling mistakes happen to everyone. That was wrong of me.

As for the "how many racists think all races are beautiful?" question; that seems to be variation on a fairly common mantra among American racists. They are often use the phrase "racial purity" (a phrase you used, unwittingly or no) as a solution to all the world's woes. If English really is your second language, you combined several phrases that are pretty common in American hate speech. I'd venture to think they are not new in Great Britian, either.

If you're talking about pure aesthetics, I will offer you something: there are millions- perhaps billions- of people who are of mixed heritage and you would never know. You can't tell aesthetically on many of them. For instance, you may think you can tell on Hallie Berry (not true actually- there are many light skinned, thin featured Black women who have no White relatives), but you can't tell from Barack Obama's features that he has any White blood. And how many people who have watched the show "Prison Break" can tell that the lead actor Wentworth Miller is actually half Black?

Keeping the races "pure" is no more logical than keeping all redheads on a big island. If you keep "the races seperate", you run a much greater eventuality for inbreeding, which is only fun at sporting events and on sitcoms. No thanks.

Lastly, the word "racist" has superialist connotations. Any "ism" means that you advocate the belief that that group is superior to another. It means you follow it as better.

I have to agree with Stern that people are not really naturally sub-divided into races - There is only one race and thats human - Its us who subdivides us into what we call race. The differences in human skin color and facial features (what we call race) is just a fancy...you know, kinda like dogs are divided.

However, unless you are mixed, you have NO idea what its like. You can say all over the place how beautiful mixed children are and how its not a big deal but YOU DONT KNOW. You will NEVER know what its like to grow up with a mixed identity. Being mixed is a hard thing. People look at your family and critique you...looking at you... like 'wow, so thats what comes out of that'. You want to belong so bad, but you dont belong anywhere. At least those of you can say that you are this or that. I am black, I am white. You have that sense of identity. You take it for granted. Its a very culturally obsessed world we live in. Especially here in the states. It would be easy if it was just yourself you had to deal with, but unfortunately you have to deal with actual people, and they feel its there duty to tell you who you are. To make you feel like you dont belong. You arent like us...you are like them. And the other way around. you dont know what its like to want to measure up to the proud Latina, Black woman, or whatever...and knowing that you cant, because you arent fully that. When you want to participate in festivities of one of your ethnicities, you are unsure if you can fully embrace it because you are only half and half something else. I think, who the hell does she think she is, she thinks she is going to have his baby and everything will be fine. But you know what??? Women think the same of me. I see the looks. Race really doesn't seem to play a key role in body dysmorphia disorders and there is no data available to support its occurrence along racial lines, but that same problem seems to afflict some of his siblings, so it could be genetic along familiar lines but that too isn't supported clinically.

Here's the root of the problem. If the thoughts you are describing are particularly racist, there is no way to describe them because (get ready to write this down) most people find racism offensive. Somewhere around the 1980's, racists started whining loudly that they were being discriminated against because no one would allow them to bully people and strut around with false superiority anymore. It's a ploy that still works as long as no one thinks it through. To whit: I'm not descriminating against someone's "freedom of speech" if the express purpose of that speech is to misinform or harm.

Growing up a honkey in the bay area, a few miles out of Oakland, Ca, I have been in a very racially mixed envirenment, hell whites are the minority in the areas I grew up, and no one race stood out for anything, other than color. i have black friends I ran the street with as a kid that are now business men, and my best friend since 4th grade, whitest fucker you'll ever meet just went back to jail 10 out of the past 12 years, and is 5 foot and will kick many a blacks ass on the court, if their short...lol point being, there are plenty of valid reasons to judge or hate someone, take a second to get to know most anyone and you can find some REAL reasons to hate them. Think the movie twins, we are all sponges when we are born, it's our envirenment, roll models and peers that make you who you are.
