Oh i know that. I'm saying i was lucky and managed to avoid that happening again when some twat with a knife thought he's try his luck.

Hope your friend doesnt beat herself up about it too much though. I hope it encourages her to learn more martial arts so that it is second nature.

Ive never done marital arts..but ive done cardio boxing and body combat at hte gym and that makes me feel great

Well it depends on the situation, depends if you think of any defensive tactics like kicking them in the back of the knees etc and it stops them....but no, if a man of a 100kg was that determined, im probably doomed

No, seriously. Yes, I can take down a guy of that weight. Question is not if you're physically (maybe because of martial arts) capable of doing it, the question is if you got the nerves for it when being attacked for real instead of being in a training situation.

I don't buy that. In highschool, I'd regularly take on guys 20 pounds heavier. I won some and lost some, but it was always a close call. No way can any woman do the same with me, no matter how strong she is.

Yeah - explain to me how I always managed to slam guys twice as big as me into the ground.. when I was very slender. Although I had the rage of a bull..

And now I've gained lovehandles and I can't even fight off my husband (and he has muscle deterioration!)

Oh dear guys, I'm disapointed! Like ego said, if you believe you can do it, you probably can! Depends who was more determined i guess.

Plus if a guy was that size, he would probably move slower and more sluggish than me, being little and all.

And just because a guy has muscle or weight behind him doesnt mean he knows how to use it!

If i can train to take down 7 guys at once properly, i can take down one! But i don't go looking for trouble!

And i know guys who have really tried to beat me and have lost, i find it teaches them something about respecting and not demining what woman can do. We can have tremendous pacience, tolerance, awareness and agility. Useful, no?

And don't worry at all Tanya, i was a bit cranky last night and i probably could of said it better!

No, I'm not very strong actually. But I can defend myself. And every human being - no matter how big, strong or heavy - has soft spots. I got quickness, I got dexterity, I got training.
If I'm not completely taken by surprise and/or the guy has hand-to-hand combat training as well I'd have my fingers in his laryngeal before he's know what hit him ...

Of course you can only judge yourself after you've tried it. When in training, even in a tournament nothing's really at stake. During training exercises I don't fight my partners like I would in a real danger situation of course. When you're being attacked and your life might be at stake you perform quite differently...
I cannot tell for sure if I would "win" of course but I know I would put up a fight and make him remember!
