I can't condone that, it's time to take the gun out of Irish politics once and for all. That said, the fact that punishment shootings are up reflects the deep distrust large segments of the nationalist population has for the conventional police. The PSNI is an improvement over the Gestapo tactics of the RUC, but old habits die hard.
