Unfortunately sweet smelling balls is an indication of impending ball failure. They will fall off. I'm sorry.
In the mean time you may get satisfaction offering them to a dog as they rather like sweet things. Cats on the other hand lack the gene necessary to taste sweet things so they most likely will not appreciate your new "flavor".
