So, amongst the usual bollocks to have come out of the annual Sinn Fein national conference this week, is a vote calling for "regulatory alignment" with the republic on abortion laws.
Which of course is just stupid. Ireland hasn't actually passed any legislation in the wake of the referendum on abortion. The vote was only to remove the prohibition of abortion from the countries constitution.
What does seem likely is that Ireland will pass a law allowing women to make a choice up to twelve weeks in to their pregnancy, which is short of the 24 weeks currently allowed in the United Kingdom.
Sinn Feins post-Brexit regulatory alignment isn't exactly paradise!
