I stick mainly to the mainstream movies section, z0di4c's thread is my favourite (it made me so sad to read that he's passed away), but there are other good posters, too. But yes, you have to pick out the good stuff.
As a newbie I beg all experienced posters to not stop posting the good stuff and leave the field to the poorer scenes. There is so much more to discover for new board members.
