Okay, I’ll bite.

The other day, I saw a male Cardinal (redbird) do his mating dance. I’ve never seen anything like it before. At first, I thought he was sick. He walked like a red suited drunken Charlie Chaplin having an epileptic seizure. He then flew like a hummingbird to his intended.

I started laughing so hard, I had to close my patio door so as not to interrupt the courtship.

Now, they have built a nest in my Confederate Jasmine. I put mothballs around the base to keep away the snakes. I’ve probably killed the plant, but there will be another generation of these odd but beautiful little birds!
