Everyone accepts that the killers were members of the IRA, so they would have known the location of the IRA arms dumps in the area. The weapons used would have been pulled from one the arms caches and returned there after. So its not surprising the weapons were used in subsequent shootings. This does nothing to prove or disprove the central question of whether or not the shootings were authorized by anyone higher up.
