I can give a personal opinion on this. I was raised well in a conservative family. I did well at school, and was the type of kid up till puberty who did as I was told and a very easy going child.

When I reached thirteen I started reading teen mags, I decided to be a rebel, and took drugs and drank. I developed anorexia and bulimia, and pretty much was a bully to the other non cool kids.

That is no way a reflection on my parents, they tried eveything to help me and stop my downward spiral, but I was stubborn and didn't listen. Eventually due to genetic I developed schizophrenia in my early twenties.

I'm just stating this here, that sometimes, despite the family someone is raised in, and good parenting skills, sometimes the blame is the kid themselves. In my case, anyway. I don't know if I'm unique, but I adrmire own a great deal. I remember how difficult I was as a teenager,

The reflection of your daughter own, is beautfiul, I'm so glad she takes your adivce. If I had done the same, non of this all for me would prolly have happened.

For the record, the teen mags had nothing to due with my eating disorders. I realised that ppl in everyday life looked nothing like that.
