Brussels doesn't have an army yet, give it time. Worth considering though that the conflict in the Ukraine started when a democratically elected government rejected moves to form closer economic ties with the EU. The EU dominated G7 has since used that conflict as a stick to economically batter Russia with.

Ireland rejected the Lisbon Treaty in a referendum, and were simply made to vote again after receiving very weak guarantees over military neutrality. I think I already covered this?

Northern Ireland (as does the south) received millions in aid from the EU. Then again, so does Wales, which firmly rejected EU membership. Strangely, the devolved government there is insisting that Wales remains in the EU.

They are a very strange bunch, these European federalists, but still, you are right, if that is what Ireland as a whole wants, that is what they should have. I don't think I have written any thing suggesting otherwise in this thread? In fact I think I wrote some thing along the lines of "good fucking riddance".
