The inquest in to the murder of 21 British citizens by the IRA in Birmingham 1974 has begun. The High Court has already rejected an appeal against the coroners decision not to name suspects in the case that originally saw 6 men wrongfully convicted.

The inquest will begin with a description of the murdered. Over 180 people were also injured by the bombs. The inquest will also hear about warnings that were telephoned. However, since the Coroner has ruled that the identity of suspects cannot be rdvealed, vital evidence and witnesses will be absent.
