St. Patrick's day is a bit like new years eve, bunch of rookies in the bars. And why ruin perfectly good beer by dumping green food coloring in it?

But, back in the bad old days it was easier getting donations on St. Patrick's day. Normally disinterested Irish Americans would get sentimental after they'd had a few and could be persuaded to cough up a few dollars.
