I'm curious if this is a US government snub to the DUP and Sinn Fein leaders for failing to break the talks deadlock at Stormont. Or, more likely someone didn't do their homework properly and invited the wrong people.

Don't think for a moment that Adams doesn't still speak for Sinn Fein, and Paisley junior is a DUP MP, so both parties are still represented. Also DUP #2 Nigel Dodds is going over. But yes, Mary Lou and Arlene appear to have been intentionally left off the list as a result over their inability to get a deal done.
