Relatives of the 21 people murdered by the IRA Birmingham pub bombings in 1974 have been to Northern Ireland to visit Arlene and Mary, in a bid to get official recognition of what happened in Birmingham on 21st November 1974.

The IRA has never officially admitted responsibility for the murders, but last year one of the suspects claimed that it was never the intention to kill, and that the deaths were caused by a delay in sending a warning message.

As the pace to bring prosecutions against British Army members involved in civilian deaths in the province is stepped up, isn't it about time that the IRA at least began to shoulder responsibility for its actions, instead of hiding behind pathetic excuses? After all, the families of people murdered by Irish nationalists are as deserving of some form of justice as any one else.
