I hate the fucking snow! More of it on the way here too.

To be honest, at first the winters here took me by surprise and I still hate them.
I moved up here with my job, came from a nice warm place in the US. The HR guys gave us a one day course on what it's like in Canada, but the first time it got cold, my wife and I were still mostly unprepared. Had to rush out and buy winter clothing.
I got a nice lump sum and pay rise, expenses are paid for etc. But fuck it, winter isn't easy once the snow comes. I reckon I know what the German army must have felt like camped outside Moscow in their summer uniforms, and there weren't any Walmarts nearby to go shopping for the warm kit. :)

Yeah I'd definitely bitch about that if I were on a farm. ;)

I seen a documentary about that once and they reckoned that there were plenty of fur coats for the army in storage in Germany, but someone never ordered them to be shipped east. Probably thought the war would be won before Winter. :cool:

Typical German arrogance, cost a lot of mothers their sons. I wonder if anyone got held to account for that fuckup?

Did they hold a gun to your head, or threaten you with the sack if you didn't go? I was once offered work in Aberdeen, but decided self-imposed misery wasn't worth it so stayed in relatively temporal Manchester.

Quite the opposite. They gave me a promotion, and a big lump sum that let me clear the balance of the mortgage on my home in the US. Plus a nice wage hike with great expenses. Extras like a company car and other stuff.

I have no regrets about the move, it's just that I hate the fucking snow. I hate walking in it, I hate driving in it, and I really hate shovelling it off my drive. :D

Perhaps you should use all that money you have you could pay some one to install a heated drive? Or just buy some salt?

You would need truckloads of salt up here at the rate it build up. I was in New York at the weekend and guess what? It fucking snowed there too. :(

And today there are extreme high winds to blow it around.

You still snowed in there Grants? Over here in the east it's a nice warm 62 degress today. No snow. :)

It was 42 yesterday and today. Supposed to snow later today, and the old fart neighbor next to me informs me his bones feel the snow on the way already. The thing is, he is always right.

And it's only 75 F in NJ today. Can't wait for summer to get here - :skull-coo
