Baby Charlie/Stupid People Rant
 

What I don't get is why people insist on keeping another human being alive for as long as possible despite how hopeless a situation is. Yet if Baby Charlie was a family pet, keeping the pet alive for as long as possible would be "inhumane."

It also sickens me that random people would care about something like this. Why? What impact does it have on your life to be a nosy little cunt? The hospital stated it received numerous threats against the staff caring for this baby. Who in the fuck gives you the right to make threats against a hospital over an event that isn't even affecting you?

If anyone remembers Terri Schiavo here in the U.S. it was a similar story. It's understandable that FAMILY of the person would have a debate about the right to die, but why in fuck do random people give a shit and have to protest about an event that will likely never affect them? Do they have nothing better to do? Is their lives so meaningless that they have to follow the herd like sheep? That's another thing, these people who travel to a place where a little girl was murdered or kidnapped or found, why in the fuck are you doing that? Do you seriously give a shit or are you just following the herd to get your 10 minutes of fame? Would you be crying and sobbing about a girl that you never even met if she was a minority? Never seen people all over the nation in modern times flock to where a minority child was murdered or had gone missing or whatever.

People are fucking stupid and pretend to care about shit like this when in reality they are just nosy moronic pieces of shit who need to mind their own damn business and stay home where they belong.

There is a growing unease with the imposistion of the state and its agencies in to family life. Prosecution of parents for taking their children out of school to go on holiday. Inteference with diet. Parents arrested and charged with child abduction for taking their child out of hospital in order to get better treatment abroad. Then this.

The press was able to tap in to this unease, and without presenting the full facts, exploit it for column inches.

The whole point of the story is that hope was said to be available if the baby went to the USA for treatment. Anything to do with children gets people emotional.

I agree with all that.

Right, yet when it's a pet that even with treatment would not really have quality of life it's considered "inhumane" to keep them alive as long as possible. The idea is "oh we don't want them to suffer." Yet these same people turn around and say "oh no keep this person alive for as long as possible."

Just the utter stupidity and hypocrisy of that is astounding.
