Friend Requests
 

I have now had a few suspicious friend requests, from brand spanking new members with zero posts and zero information about them. When I see such a request and I see no avatar pic, and the only contact information is via some Yahoo email, then I will turn the request down.

The fact is, I have no way of knowing if the person is legit. In some cases they've turned out to be legitimate members and that's ok. But in general, I find it safest to not approve requests from total strangers / unknown entities.

I am very happy to make new friends and will approve most requests, provided it doesn't look suspicious. However, I note that I personally don't make requests to befriend people that I haven't spoken to, here on RB. To me, it seems only logical to exchange a few messages first (at least). I guess that's an added reason why I am so suspicious of friend requests out of the blue.

Opinions welcome.

I tend to use my 'friends list' more like a 'contact list', Sasha Girl.

Don't really feel the need to pile on as many 'friends' as possible to try and feed my ego, so i won't batter out loads of requests to every female with a beating pulse. I'll only send out a 'friend request' if i've had some kind of contact with them first, and even then i can be bloody slow at doing it.

As for accepting random requests from people i've never seen or heard of before. Normally i'll decline those unless she catches my eye for some reason. Purely because i just don't see the point in having a whole pile of 'friends' that i have no contact with and barely recognise.

Each to their own, but that's my take on things. ;)

Well, the concern isn't the quality of friendships. The concern is that the entity making the proposition isn't a real member of the board, but some kind of spammer in disguise. I'm sorry I didn't make that clear earlier, but that was kind of the crux of my post. :)

Carlos, you may be a friend whore, but you're one of my best friends here.

Ill accept within reason. If all they wanna see is pics, no.

I was more picky on the other site, but that was because I had a private album where I'd often post pictures of my bruised tits, tied tits, whipped tits, suctioned nips, pictures of myself in various schoolgirl outfits and plaid skirts, etc. :p I'm not planning to post any pictures like that this time around... at least not for a while anyway. Therefore, I've been accepting pretty much everyone to be my friend.

I used to accept everyone and not care very much who saw my 'me' album - here I only accept those I've seen around the board and who ask me.

I just confirm everybody, that said I don't have anything on there that is hidden...and I'm a manwhore for friends, especially female ones

I usually befriend anyone that ask, if I have interacted with them on the board. And I sometimes ask if I’m reasonable sure they are interested in being friends.

While I think it's particularly true for women that they need to be a bit more choosy about who they reveal personal information to (let alone befriend on a site like this), it's a pretty smart policy to keep personal information to yourself unless you are ABSOLUTELY certain that the person you're giving it to can be trusted - and personal info can include things like e-mail addresses and photos, both of which can be used to trace you.

Agree. I've known you about 2 years now carls, and you know everything there is to know. I don't do that for many, in fact ste and you are the only ones who know where I live, full name etc etc. Cos I trust you completley. And I know my trust is warranted.

I'll usually friend anyone I've interacted with at least a couple times. The one thing that always throws me is when either A) a total one day old noob wants to be friends without comment or salutation or B) said noob or novice does decide to comment and its the standard "Dooood!!! These sluts are hawt!!1! Lawlz!!!".

I imagine that must be the male equivalent of the girls getting hit on by noobs with "UR hawt! Wanna fuck?!". I can't think of a bigger turn off.
