I had many, many friends on RD - a lot of whom are my friends again, here.

I lent my support to all those that I saw in need. I posted in topics that were controversial, without getting embroiled in an argument (believe it or not). I received numerous private messages thanking me for the input, from those who chose not to express their opinions publicly.

There were, however, those who tried to shoot me down, for whatever reason. Considering that I never attacked anyone in person (even when posting about upsetting behaviour, I didn't reveal names), I do not feel the hatred was warranted. Now, some of these people have migrated here. They will naturally see a thread with me in it and go look. Then they will give points to anyone who seems to be attacking me, and spread their hatred behind my back.

This is cowardly behaviour and proves nothing. I'd ask anyone who doesn't yet know me to take their time. Make up your own mind, based on what you see. This is what I do when I first meet someone. Relying on the vitriol of others is stupid, unfair and likely to result in prejudice.

Ignore them. We tend to make up our own minds here.

As we recently discovered, some people just live to try to bring others down to their level. If their lives are so empty that they followed you here for that express purpose, what does that say about THEM?

People are always going to think what they want to. There was a person on RD (who I was delighted to find is banned here) that no matter what I said or did would find some thing to complain about it. He accused me of being a phony, of trying to impose my will on the boards and of deliberately making people feel bad. For whatever reason - we don't know each other so he's just operating on his opinion of me as I do on mine of him - there was just bad blood between us nearly from the get-go. I finally put him on ignore and refused to read his posts (even though I'm told from time to time he'd make some back-handed reference, he was notorious for posting some vague shit which would get someone's hackles up and then back down claiming he was being misinterpreted). That seemed to stop the drama that we generated because I just stopped responding.

That's really the secret; don't engage when you run into someone who just wants to take the piss out of you. There's an old adage; there's nothing constructive about mud-wrestling with a pig. You just wind up getting covered in just as much mud as the pig and the pig likes it.

There's a biblical quote I live by.

Don't throw your pearls to pigs, lest they trample upon them.

All spammers are cowards, too. I plan to post in one of the genuine threads every time I see a spam one at the top. Take that, spammers!

I do believe also its site policy that drama started elsewhere stays elsewhere and isn't allowed here?

That also would be correct, that was part of the reason Guest69 was booted off.

Take a look at one of the rep comments FR has received - he posted it in the Rep Comments thread for all to see. In it, someone claims they know me from RD and then goes on to spout nasty, hate-filled crap that simply isn't true. The words are dripping with venom, hence why I responded in this thread.

I did look long and hard at that comment before I posted it, but couldn't see anything wrong with it. If a moderator thinks otherwise I will gladly take it down voluntarily, or edit it so that it doesn't break site rules.

I lied: I've had a really shit couple of days and, Sasha I really I don't want you to take this the wrong way, this entire interaction plus that rep comment has been the first thing today to make me giggle to myself in a hot minute.

The Rowdy Room has certainly given people a reason to laugh down the years.

I think you did the right thing posting it. Obviously, I disagree with the comment, but I prefer things to be out in the open. Must be my attention seeking nature.

I'm glad it made some people laugh. Hell, I'm glad people are here to respond. :)

In case this thread hasn't made it clear, I feel some people are hating on me and it bothers me. I personally haven't hated on anyone and I hope you will keep your promise about not tolerating others behaving in such fashion.

I also hope this post isn't seen as whining. Otherwise, FR will never rape me... :)

I'm sure McBatfink called me a "delinquent sassanach bastard" in a reputation comment once. Senile old cunt forgot to click the "disapprove" button before he posted it though. Twat!
